“I was pleasantly surprised by the show”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

My wife got tickets for this show, and I went along very reluctantly (actually I was a little pouty after a long day of scuba diving). After the show, I had to eat crow - the show was very good and entertaining. We made a great evening of dinner at Kimo's then walked a couple of blocks to the show.

“Wonderful production”
Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

Not expecting much we booked VIP tickets ($80pp adults; $50 seniors). We were most pleasantly surprised. Very informative and entertaining. Dancers were terrific as was the live music. Great sets and costumes. At times one is not sure exactly what is happening but that allows for creative interpretation. My only suggestion is that they end on a more "up" note by acknowledging the positives gained from Statehood. All in all a must-see in Maui.

“Interesting visuals, Cirque music but hard to tell what's authentic”
Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

This is a multi scene theatrical presentation on the history of Maui from the arrival of the first people to the current day. It is primarily presented through dance and song but there are a couple of Cirque de Soleil type acts. While it starts a bit slow, it picks up in the second half and finishes strongly.

The music is a mix of early Cirque - still the best - and percussion. The musicians are excellent playing live and against recordings.

The songs and rare speaking are in Hawaiian but the story is narrated in English and the program clearly outlines what you are seeing. It works quite well.

There were young children at our presentation and some had to leave early. While there are some very interesting visuals it isn't really a show for young kids.

“dance theatre at its best”
Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

This is not a live movie as some reviewers seemed to expect.
This is art.
Excellent dance, voice, and music. The waterfall interpretation by the acrobatic performer was worth the price alone. (speaking of price there are lots of discount sites once you get here so no need to pay full price)
If you enjoy good stage art you will love this.
