We sailed out with Cpt. Yoshi and his crew. The boat sailed smoothly and after the captain and the crew are done briefing you on safety tips, the crew members then start dishing out refreshments. Huge, warm cinnamon rolls, hot or cold drinks, there's chips and salsa and of course water at your convenience. They plate you a nice bbq chicken dish with salad and a tasty serving of seasoned rice with it for lunch and then they go around for seconds :-) Needless to say, you won't go hungry in this cruise. Now for the snorkel. We went to Molokini and one of my fins came off. I wanted to get it but it was sinking fast. I went back to the boat and before I can say I lost my fin, one guy said, they got it. The coral reefs were brighter and clearer and lots of marine life to observe. My only tip to snorkelers is to try and minimize the splashing of legs and arms. This sometimes scares the fish away so by the time you get to a certain reef, it's empty because the group before you was making a lot of splash. But I just glided around and found a school of fish that I actually swam with...sooo cool. After Molokini, Cpt. Yoshi took us to Makena, they call it turtle island. Yes, we did see a few turtles and even swam with some. Not everyone had the luck to see turtles so he sailed to a place nearby where turtles were swimming and surfacing for air. Here everyone was able to see and observe them from the boat. This was a protected habitat. It was really the perfect day to go out and snorkel and we couldn't have asked for a better tour than Trilogy and we'd like to say thanks to Cpt. Yoshi and his crew for taking good care of us...we really had an awesome time.

We were two couples, one couple on honeymoon-first timers to Hawaii! The service by Captain Chuck, Caleb, Byron (and one other first mate whose name escapes me) was first class. Great food prepared to end a beautiful day. We did the full day, leaving at 10:00am. It was nice not to rush at the crack of dawn to get there. They do not crowd the boat so there are plenty of spaces to enjoy the scenery. They provide plenty of snacks like homemade cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit and chicken salad wraps....and that's all before we arrived at the beach. The best thing was the school of spinner dolphins that escorted us into the island...that was fantastic!
Try Trilogy before you try any other company!

This experience was wonderful! After parking we walked to the harbor to check in. Once a board the boat there is a safety briefing- then the fun starts. The crew starts you off with pineapple juice or coffee and warm cinnamon rolls. The trip to Lanai from Maui was about 1.5 hours but didn't seem that long. They also served lunch before reaching shore. There was a choice of turkey, veggie, tuna, or chicken salad deli wraps.

The most exciting part of the trip over was seeing the dolphins-Hawaii resident spinner dolphins. The crew pointed them out. They said they are in that area 50% of the time.

After reaching Lanai we were welcomed by locals who presented us with seashell Lei's. It is a short walk to the beach but they also provide vans to transport you if you wish. I made this trip with a broken foot and they were very accommodating.

Once on the beach, chairs, beach mats, snorkel gear, water and chips and salsa were provided. I also saw some sand toys and balls for the kids. The crew was very helpful in explaining how to snorkel. The water was clear and we saw several fish. I felt very safe- the crew hung around and monitored the beach area. There is an optional van tour around the island or you can stay at the beach.

After the beach we headed to the picnic shelter where dinner was served. The menu included salad, rolls, BBQ chicken, stir fry noodles, and peas. They will not let you go hungry! They came around several times to ask if we wanted more food.

Once we set sail back to Maui the crew passed out ice-cream and drinks. They served Mai Tai's and Bikini Blonde which is a local beer. Even though the winds were not good for sailing they went to the trouble of raising a sail just so we could get pictures in front of it.

Overall this was a great day and well worth the money. Our crew was amazing and very personable. They were knowledgeable and told us many stories about the islands along the way. Thanks to Captain Chuck, Captain Caleb, Kai, and Byron for an amazing day!

Some advice: Don't forget the sunscreen and some cash to tip the crew.

We went out on the Trilogy with our two boys, ages 9 & 10. It was amazing. The crew was really personable. Captain Yoshi was really funny. Everyone went out of their way to help. When snorkeling, the guys from the boat are hanging out on surf boards in the water and helped me clean my mask and get it back on. They served us drinks and food the whole day. The boat was 'full' but not crowded at all. There were plenty of seats and you could move around and not worry about losing your seat. Or you could sit inside for a bit then sit outside. We did the optional snuba which was very cool - definitely worth it and easy to do. It was just the 4 of us with the instructor. The crowd was nice. There was no alcohol during the snorkel sail, so no crowd trying to get the most drinks for their money which was nice. The captain let people sail the ship. The crew was just really professional and fun - no canned speeches. We didn't all have to yell Aloha together at the start of the cruise like the boat next to us. Lunch was tasty. Can't say enough. There is a reason the Trilogy gets such high ratings! You won't be disappointed!

We do this excursion every year! We do the Lanai day trip. The crew is always nice and welcoming! The lunch they prepare is really good too! Definitely worth the money! They are great with kids too! I get seasick and love this trip, which is kinda a toss up sometimes. We don't usually snorkel, we go in the ocean and hang out in the waves.
