We did the 7am cruise to Molokini & Turtle Bay (Appx 5 hours) back in April 2011.
BEWARE: If you don't know how to swim or tread water...don't bother. You'll just sit there. Most importantly, you do not get to step foot on Molokini, no one is allowed to, it's protected. You swim/snorkel around it.
+ You will see Turtles!!!
+ Friendly Staff, they won't even let you get up to get your food
+ Snuba (extra fee): you must try it @ Molokini with 80% visibility! You're attached to 10-20 foot of oxygen tube, not scary at all. Perfect w/ your underwater camera (see my pics).
+ Good music
+ Free T-shirt to first person in line when they open their store
~ Food was okay...nothing special I could recall
~ You must wear their floaties & shirt/jacket (really old and not attractive but who's looking?)
~ No Alcohol. Do you want to be drunk & swimming? Would it be a good idea? Hmm...
- A bit pricey but totally worth it
- Pet peeve: You MUST be barefoot (no exception, they take away your shoes/slippers/water shoes before you board)
- Restroom was small and floor was wet (extra gross when you're barefoot!)
- The gear was a tad bit old...my goggles were always getting loose & taking in sea water up your nose is NO FUN...trust me on that one
Bottom line is...we had an amazing experience trying Snuba. Snorkeling in Turtle Bay was fun but a lot of swimming & always remember to STICK WITH THE GROUP! I was pretty sore the next day so don't plan another big activity the next day.
