“Awesome crew and experience!”

We had the best time on the Scotch Mist II sunset sail. Gene Sr./Jr., Amorosa, and Lacey were fun and attentive. There were only 6 people on the cruise, so it felt like a private experience. They constantly asked if you needed a refill on your drink, and served Kobel champagne. This is our third trip to Maui, but first sunset cruise, and now we will do it every time. There were even 2 locals on the cruise celebrating a birthday. I definitely recommend them!

Having done a lot of cruising on the waters off of Maui in the past, I wanted to do some sailing without the aid of a motor. Scotch Mist II, a former racing sloop, provided just the experience that I was after.

We started with a delightful sunset sail which was relaxing and beautiful. But later we returned for an afternoon sail with a fresh breeze and some great views of West Maui with rainbows. Spinner dolphins added to the entertainment.

Captain "Turk" provided interesting comentary and First Mate Kerstin kept the sails in trim and served us beverages between tacks. Both exuded an enthusiam for sailing that was contageous.

As someone who loves to sail, this activity was my favorite on Maui. I plan to pay the Scotch Mist II and her crew a visit whenever future vacations take me to Lahaina.

We absolutely loved the sunset sail. The crew was fantastic! We had a small group of 7 onboard the evening that we sailed. It was such a peaceful time, sipping champagne and enjoying chocolates as the sun slipped away.

Two years in a row we sailed with Mike Turkington and the Scottish Mist crew and both times were spectacular. This is a good old fashioned sailboat that thrills and delights as you cruise into the waters off Lahaina and toward some of the most amazing sunsets of Maui. While the boat and the cruise in itself is special...it's the crew that makes it an exceptional experience. google Mike Turkington surfer and you will understand why. The breadth of his knowledge of ocean life, Maui culture and historical Hawaii makes this more than just your typical sail around Maui. The entire crew is focused on hospitality and making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Whether you're a first time sailor or pro...this trip is an experience of a lifetime. On both trips we were greeted by Schools of dolphins...providing an unexpected bonus to an incredible evening.

While in Maui on a true family vacation (12 people in total, 8 adults and four children aged 2-6) we booked a noon sail (11:00am-1:00pm). Eleven of our twelve made the trip and two other gentlemen were also along for the ride with Captain Turk and his first mate Kersten. These two are obviously passionate about sailing and Maui, they were full of information about the area and the boat. There was beer served, but being a noon cruise nobody drank too many and we had a relaxing time. Kersten was wonderful with the children, letting them safely enjoy sailing. On our way back toward the harbor, we spotted spinner dolphins out to see, the Captain turned the ship so we could get a better view. When he realize there was a large pod, over 100 dolphins, he temporarily motored the boat to get us near them and then we sailed with the dolphins for a good twenty or thirty minutes. Our cruise returned to port just after 1:30pm, when I thanked Captain Turk for letting us stay out longer to see the dolphins he deadpanned "I didn't think you would mind". Obviously, the dolphins were the highlight, but even without them this was an excellent trip that the whole family loved.
