We arrived in Maui and I told my family that our first stop was to visit a banyan tree. It didn't go over well as we were hot and tired from our long flight. But, I insisted that we go. As soon as we entered the town, the kids were excited. It was so beautiful and the tree was amazing! There was a lady taking family pictures in front of the tree. It was a great time and I'm so glad we didn't head straight for the hotel pool! We found parking and food without hassle. It was a perfect first stop!

We walked through this park a few times, during the weekends there are lots of vendors selling their artwork, jewelry, etc. A few homeless around but never bothered us.

A must visit when in Maui. Located in the heart of Lahaina on Front Street. Weekends bring local artists from all over the island so plan on spending the day. From the Banyon Tree Park, you can then walk down Front Street, browse all the shops and have lunch and/or dinner. Lahaina town is fun and Banyon Tree Park is s special haven you will not want to miss.

I happened to go to the Banyan Tree Park when they had some local vendors selling things underneath the tree which I enjoyed. I was able to purchase a basked made by a local which is unique. The tree itself was incredibly huge as it intertwined itself. It was absolutely gorgeous. A must see.

We did not know anything about this so it was not on our things to do but are so happy that we ran into this so that we can walk around the old courthouse and see the Banyan tree park. What an unusual and genuinely natural area.
