“Just a Tree”
Review of Banyan Tree Park

Banyan Tree Park
Ranked #9 of 78 things to do in Lahaina
Certificate of Excellence

While a unique site the tree at the park is just that.....a tree. The park was populated by what looked to be homeless people. Once visited is enough

The Banyan tree park prohibits you to swing or climb to help preserve and protect the tree. Benches and old ruins with walk paths. Located at the harbor and is bounded by Front Street in Lahaina. The banyan tree is a city icon and was around since it was a whaling village, sea port and from the time the area was used in cane sugar production.

I had seen the Banyan Tree before, but never when lit for the holidays. It was magnificent.
Just one drawback if you are there at night...watch out for the birds that roost in the trees. You might want to either wear a hat, carry an umbrella or cover your head with something to protect it from random bird droppings!

This tree is amazing and covers over a half acre. The entire park is beneath this tree. The area surrounding the park is full of museums, restaurants, shops, and beautiful views of the ocean. There plenty of benches and this is a fun place to take a stroll or a short rest in the shade. The tree was lit for the holidays and was colorful and made for some great photos. This is a must see!
