If you're in Lahaina and walking down the strip to shop and etc, then stop by and see the tree. It's pretty amazing to see such a huge tree there. There's a bunch of artists selling their art work, if you're into those sort of things. I was afraid a bunch of birds were going to poop on my head, so I was dodging walking under the branches.

Giant, historical banyan tree has taken over the block, so it's now a small park, with paths. Worth the stop if you are in town for a bit of relaxation. Wouldn't drive from the other side of the island for it!

Don't go expecting a kids play area or green grass.
The Banyan Tree itself is amazing. So big and sprawling and old. There are usually artists and craftsmen selling their wares under the branches. At the Southwest corner of the park there are the remains of the old coral wall fortifications which are interesting to read about. Inside the Old Courthouse (a beautiful building itself), there are displays about Hawaii, with pictures and artifacts. With the Baldwin House across the street and the King's taro patch down the road, you get a sense of what Lahaina might have been like years ago.

Visited...not sure all "artists" were truly their own artists. Some items looked manufactured. The tree is wonderful, and we did make a couple of carefully selected items. They are open to discussing the price.
