“Decent food but terrible service”
Reviewed April 4, 2014

The food was decent, but the service was terrible. Granted our group was large (12 people), but the food was brought out one plate at a time. One person was served one plate of food, then 5 to 10 minutes later, another plate of food was brought for a different person. Overall, it took 90 minutes from the first plate being served to the last plate to be served. And several of us only ordered salads! Nice ambiance, which was good since we spent over 2 hours with little food and nothing to do but watch other people eat. We will not be back.

“I want to go back”
Reviewed April 2, 2014 via mobile

We stopped here mid morning for coffee but were ver impressed with the service and menu. We asked if we could just come in for coffee and the said yes and showed us to a great table overlooking the ocean. Our sever recommended the French press coffee for two and my husband decided to have a smoothy as well. The waiter brought out two mini scones to go along with the coffee. These were so good that we ordered an order to go. They baked them fresh for us. I have to say the service was exceptional! Wish we were here longer to go for a whole meal here!

“A great surprise!”

We found the restaurant by accident after our luau was cancelled due to rain. The tapas were great and the filet mignon with yams was excellent.

“Go on, treat yourself”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

It was Friday evening in Lahaina. We hadn't booked anywhere for dinner. Everywhere was full, with at least an hour's wait for a table. We had resigned ourselves to a sandwich from a takeaway. And then we were accosted by a nice young lady attempting to entice us into "Sugar Cane Cafe and Eat Bar". We weren't convinced by the name. . . What a find! Don't be put off by the unusual name and the fact that the entrance stairway is inside another shop. This is a classy restaurant above the shops on Front Street. It is cool, spacious and has a balcony overlooking Front Street and the ocean. The staff are excellent, as is the food. We ate from the tapas menu, which was delicious. In fact, we enjoyed the whole experience so much that we returned on Saturday evening and intend another visit next week.
