Description: In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair. Plantation workers gathered in the fields for their mid-day meal. The Japanese laborers would bring teriyaki beef with rice and pickled vegetables. Seated next to them might be their Filipino neighbors with the traditional dish adobo or perhaps a pork or chicken stew. The Koreans had their kalbi or marinated ribs and the Chinese a rice noodle and vegetable dish called chow fun. Hawaiians were known for their kalua pig, roasted in an underground oven called an imu. It wasn't long before they began to share their foods with one another and the "mixed plate" was born. Aloha Mixed Plate features true "Local" traditional plate lunches with open air seating directly on the ccean. We are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Really liked this place! The location is beautiful, right on the beach in North Lahaina... away from the crowd. The food is traditional Hawaiian... get used to plain white rice AND macaroni salad with your protein!! Yummy mahi mahi and the Happy Hour Mai Tais were some of the best we had on our holiday. Friendly staff and good prices.

We had lunch at Aloha Mixed Plate in late April.
The hostess was rude and short from the get go, the place was not busy at the time.
Servers were rather indifferent. Plates did not have presentation and were heavy and greasy.
They do serve big portions and food was inexpensive.
Will not go back.

A most pleasant surprise on our recent trip to Maui and Lahaina. It was suggested we try the Aloha Mixed Plate and found it just great food at a great price. It is simple but well prepared and everything comes with two large scoops of good rice. So if you only want one scoop tell them! The beef, fish and chicken that came on the mixed plate special was just fine. And, if it weren't for a short wall of walk and a sidewalk you'd be sitting on the beach itself. It is located next to the Old Lahaina Luau, which of course is a great attraction. So here's the secret! We saw the food being delivered over top the Luau (which is known for it's great food) on carts from this restaurant! We asked and was told that it was prepared in the same kitchen..... In any event this is a great spot. Only odd thing is that the seating closes to the beach is for those having spirits. Those diners sit very close in still a fine setting.

Just out side of town on Front St. Alfresco dining on the water. Local inspired beverages and food. If you order alcohol you can not sit directly on beach but you get very close. Ordered the noodles with pork. Dressing was tasty.

My husband and I went here for breakfast. I had no idea what to expect. All seating is outdoors. The service was super friendly and efficient. The prices were great too. We each had a big breakfast for under $10--plus I had a coupon from "Maui This Week" which helped even more.
Coffee refills came quickly and often. The view of the ocean just a few yards away was relaxing and gorgeous.
