Description: In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair. Plantation workers gathered in the fields for their mid-day meal. The Japanese laborers would bring teriyaki beef with rice and pickled vegetables. Seated next to them might be their Filipino neighbors with the traditional dish adobo or perhaps a pork or chicken stew. The Koreans had their kalbi or marinated ribs and the Chinese a rice noodle and vegetable dish called chow fun. Hawaiians were known for their kalua pig, roasted in an underground oven called an imu. It wasn't long before they began to share their foods with one another and the "mixed plate" was born. Aloha Mixed Plate features true "Local" traditional plate lunches with open air seating directly on the ccean. We are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

“One of our favourite breakfast stops.”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

We ate at the Aloha Mixed plate a handful of times during our recent trip to Maui. The food is not anything that will blow you away but it is all good (they have a few variations of the Hawaiian classic loco moco breakfast dish). The prices cannot be beat (especially for Maui!). The outdoor seating was perfect and I loved having a custom fresh fruit smoothie. I definitely recommend the AMP for breakfast.

“happy hour is a real value”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

I probably shouldn’t rate a restaurant based solely on having a drink there, but they have a great happy hour special that everyone should know about - $3.50 Mai Tai and $1.75 Bud longnecks. We just stopped in for a drink back to hotel after ziplining and weren’t hungry, but really enjoyed the drink special. Nice open-air seating with ocean view. Good, friendly service. They are adjacent to Old Lahaina Luau (parking could be a problem during Luau hours). We’ll definitely return and give their food menu a try.

My trip to Maui is not complete without a few dinners at AMP. The Kalbi ribs are great. The coconut prawns are delicious. And great happy hour drink specials.

“A Maui Must”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

My husband and I have been to Maui twice, once for our honeymoon and once for our fifth year wedding anniversary. Both times we visited, we ate at Aloha Mixed Plate at least twice.

It's really a perfect location. When you arrive, you're asked if you are going to drink or not. If you choose not to drink, you can be seated close to the beach, and you have a really nice view. The patio, where you sit if you choose to drink alcohol, is located further from the view.

Meals at Aloha Mixed Plate are a good value, and you really get a lot of food. I would recommend going for an early dinner at sunset or for lunch.
