Description: In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair. Plantation workers gathered in the fields for their mid-day meal. The Japanese laborers would bring teriyaki beef with rice and pickled vegetables. Seated next to them might be their Filipino neighbors with the traditional dish adobo or perhaps a pork or chicken stew. The Koreans had their kalbi or marinated ribs and the Chinese a rice noodle and vegetable dish called chow fun. Hawaiians were known for their kalua pig, roasted in an underground oven called an imu. It wasn't long before they began to share their foods with one another and the "mixed plate" was born. Aloha Mixed Plate features true "Local" traditional plate lunches with open air seating directly on the ccean. We are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Aloha Mixed Plate was suggested to us by our concierge as a place to try "local food"
We ordered the coconut prawns as an appetizer. We also ordered The Aloha Mixed Plate which included shoyu chicken, fresh fish of the day..(ono) and teriyaki beef. We also tried a small order of the Lau Lau. Everything was good and plentiful. You definitely can share. The drinks were reasonably priced and the service was good.

Whether a visitor or Kama'aina, there's something for you at the Aloha Mixed Plate in Lahaina, right next door to the renown Old Lahaina Luau. Locals will find a lot of familiar dishes and adventurous newcomers can expand their epicurean experiences. On the day I ate there, fresh fish was offered. One of the persons in my party had the Chinese Chicken Salad. Prices were reasonable and the view is great, right next to the water.

I'd get to this place early! It's worth a wait but of course, who wants to wait? We got a prime table by going shortly before 6 on a Wednesday evening. I got the most popular mixed plate, with teriyaki beef, shoyu chicken, and white fish- substituted the rice and pasta for a salad to make a lighter dish. It was fantastic. Husband got a mixed plate with pulled pork- also delectable. Service was fast and friendly... The view during sunset was also unbelievable! We will definitely be back again this week for lunch or breakfast!

A great spot for a casual lunch, the food is very good and they have a full bar. We had a chicken salad and a teriyaki beef plate which were huge, delicious, and inexpensive. There is always a wait and the parking lot is a zoo. We parked next door at the luau restaurant (owned by the same people) which was fairly empty. The restaurant is right on the water, what more do you want?
