We had such a fantastic time! Peggy's condo met all of my "must have" list and so much more! We loved all the VERY well thought out little details, the quality of the appliances, kitchen ware, linens etc and of course, the extensive activities closet. The beer in the fridge, chocolates, macadamia nuts, and Keurig coffee pods were such a nice touch! The pictures are very accurate and communication with Peggy was excellent!
We really felt like we were "home" and loved that the condo is on the more private side of the property. The lawn and privacy just outside the condo was great for my children to play and gave us easy walkable access to the beach, which had good snorkeling and swimming. A short walk took us to the "resort side" including pool, lawn activities and poolside restaurant/bar. Since we have children, we didn't use the "adult pool" but really enjoyed the "kids' pool". Honestly, it was so much fun even if I didn't have kids, I'd probably be there anyway! There are so many activities offered at the resort as well, including hula class and lei making class! Not all activities are free and you pay for those that are not at the time of the class. I appreciated not having to pay a $17-$20 fee upfront to the resort (as some other properties require) if I didn't use them.
Lastly, the property is in a great location! Across the street is a shopping center that includes a grocery store, great breakfast restaurant (Slappy Cakes- diy pancakes!), snorkeling equipment (which you won't need but it's there) and an urgent care among other shops.
We are looking forward to our next vacation already and may even try out one of Peggy's other condos on the Big Island! Thank you Peggy!
My wife and I loved our stay at the shores In Lahaina for our honeymoon. Between the sunsets and sunrises we felt as if we were in the heart of Maui. Location was perfect for us, not only was Peggy's condo conviently located on the ground level with quick entry to the resorts amenities but your about a 2 mile drive from countless beaches for my fellow "bums" or activities and restaurants down on Front st. We scheduled a snorkel excursion and beginners surfing lesson while we stayed in Lahaina and it only took us 10 mins to get to where we needed to be due to convieient location of Peggy's condo. Speaking of Peggy Yelland, the owner of the condo. At times I felt as though I was bombarding her with questions about the area and everything else, she was very prompt with her responses and very clear and informative! No need to pack extra gear. Peggy stacked the place with plenty of beach chairs, coolers, snorkel gear you name it she's got it! A definite affordable must stay location when visiting Lahaina Maui!!!! Oh btw, restaurant on site was very good! Friendly staff, we found ourselves enjoying breakfast and mimosas almost everyday befor our day started! Bottomless coffee is always a plus!
The condo is perfect. Walk out onto the beach no elevators to fuss with.
The condo has every thing one could possibly need. Literally home anyway from home. Super comfy bed luxurious soft linens and towels.
We had the best Maui vacation stay ever.. we WILL be visiting this condo again..
Thank you so much Peggy!!
My husband and I rented this condo for eight days in April. We were here to celebrate our 50th. Wedding anniversary. We were so pleased when we arrived and walked I. The door. The pictures on this site are perfect and true to form. View is incredable from all windows and patio. Unit better equipped than any we have rented so far and that says a lot. Peggy has put much thought into her visitors comfort during their stay here and it shows. So if you are reading this review and looking for a place to rent than look no further. You could never do better than this. Beautiful grounds and the roar of the ocean is heavenly. This has been a fabulous stay for us and thanks Peggy. Writing this sitting out by the ocean!! Heaven!
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay in Condo 110 at the Ka'anapali Shores resort for five weeks during February and March! The Condo was absolutely perfect in every respect. The kitchen had everything you might possibly need, with high quality pots and pans, dishes, silverware, glassware and appliances. The linens were high quality, the furniture lovely and new, and the condo immaculate! Peggy Yelland could not have been a more gracious owner, answering my calls and emails and having supplied absolutely everything you could possibly need and more, for a fabulous vacation! Ka'anapali Shores is a beautiful resort and we couldn't have enjoyed our vacation more! Our only regret, is that we didn't book early enough fir next year!
A long time ago, I had children at home who needed to have a sitter when my wife and I went out. If you had children, and you remember those days as well, you will shortly understand the title of this review. Whenever you found a Great sitter, you were hesitant to share with others as you would be afraid that everyone would learn her name and your days of using her would be gone.
So, now you will soon understand the title. However, I owe this review to Peggy.
If you wish to visit Maui, work with a condo owner who over-commutes to make certain everything goes well, provides you with a very clean and updated condo fully loaded with everything you need to enjoy the island, you are visiting the right site.
I cannot begin to tell you how my wife and I enjoyed condo 110. This condo is certainly perfect for a couple to enjoy Kaanapali Shores without being located in an elevator accessible room or inside the horseshoe where all the activity occurs.
The only down side is not a downside of the condo but of the Shores. No beach but better than a beach is that fact that you can be much closer to the ocean and the pools totally compensate for the lack of a beach.
So, I need to tell you that my wife and I walked the boardwalk almost every day to Whaler's Village and back both along the beach and on the walk itself. Peggy's condo will certainly live up to your greatest expectations, I promise!
As I read the reviews of previous visitors in the condo, I found that I could not begin to write a better review, but I tried. Just hoping, when I am again able to visit Maui, I can find this condo available. In fact, I have decided we WILL schedule our next visit to Maui "only" upon the availability of Peggy's condo. I am afraid that may now be difficult, or it should be. Peggy deserves the very best I can write. Hope I accomplished that.
We were a bit dubious about renting a condo; we have historically been hotel people. Condos are either too personal (photos of the owner's kids!) or lack services (linens, awkward check-ins...). However, this was better than any hotel we have ever booked:
1 -- Peggy was a dream to deal with -- businesslike, helpful, quick to respond.
2 -- The unit is indeed in a lovely and convenient location. This complex is on the north end of Kaanapali which meant that there were fewer travelers; however, the complex is also right across the street (easy walk) from a nice little shopping center where we could buy groceries AND design and send our Christmas cards! (and get shave ice, too).
3 -- The amenities in the unit were fantastic. Peggy's DVD collection is almost as large as ours at home, and considerably more eclectic. The beach chairs/umbrellas/snorkels were a huge help (and an additional savings, since we didn't have to rent). Although our daughter is too old now for the little kid toys, there was a fine selection of those from which to choose as well. There was cold beer and water in the fridge and detergent pods and a full selection of K-cups ready to go -- along with a welcoming chocolate box!
4 -- And if you DID forget your own personal amenities, there were even little shampoos/soaps there to tide you over until you could get to the grocery store and pick more up.
5 -- The unit was VERY quiet. The other sides of this complex (it's like a giant U) struck me as being noisy -- overlooking pools or parking lots or other complexes. This one has a quiet lawn and we never heard anyone else the whole week.
6 -- Having your own washer and dryer (and beach towels) is a Godsend -- no wet towels, no wet swimsuits. And her appliances are newer and better than ours are at home.
7 -- We arrived on the 22nd and the unit was already decorated for Christmas with a wreath on the hall door and lights and candles and a little stocking on the wall. Since this was the first Christmas in 15 years that we had NOT spent with family, we really appreciated the (completely unexpected) extra touch.
8 -- Ditto the previous reviewer who pointed out that Peggy arranged for the workout room to be available for our use. Apparently other folks at this complex have to pay as they go, but we had no issues there and the gym people were very happy to see us.
9 -- Everything was there and ready to go when we got there. I only had to go to the front desk to arrange for parking the rental car. No real estate offices with limited staffing/business hours, no key drops, no linen checkouts or checkins -- how wonderfully civilized.
I do not think you can do better than this on Maui. Or in most other places. But I do fear that Peggy has totally spoiled us for future vacations...:)
