This is a lovely two story quiet condo with all units opening to the ocean and beautiful grounds and a pool. A nice deck with tables and chairs and three grills allow for cooking "in"--good considering the high cost of restaurants in Maui. A quiet rule from 10 PM til 8 AM makes it very nice at night. Very convenient to beaches, shopping, and Lahaina. PS does not have a beach, but has beautiful lava rocks with water crashing on them. There are sea turtles swimming around--kids love this. Killer sunsets, too. We would definitely go back.

We have just returned from Maui. We booked our time into a condo at the Polynesian Shores in West Maui. We had a end unit which could not be beat for its location to the ocean. The surf pounded the shore about 20 feet from our condo! The shore is not sandy so I would not recommend this location for very young children but older kids had fun climbing the lava rocks with adult supervision at low tide. There is a pool available and expansive grassy areas for fun and play. These is also a deck which extends out over the ocean. It has 3 grills and plenty of seating. Many of the vacationers would meet to watch the sunset, have a cocktail and cook dinner together. Everyone is very friendly. This place isn't open to only tourists - there are permanent residents who live here also. It is about a 15 minute drive to Lahainia and all that town has to offer. Napili is just a short drive the other direction. Our unit was adequate. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bathrooms were a bit on the small size. Our kitchen was fully equipped and we had a wrap-around lanai. We booked our week directly with the owners but you can book at web site or with the condo managers. Each unit is different and the web site offers good pictures. We rented a condo because it was less expensive than the big resorts we shared the same shore with. [--]

We came here for our son's wedding, and both families and friends booked here. We had the corner, second floor three bedroom condo and it was awesome. Everyone that came to visit was wowed. We loved the view, and this is a great place to stay as a group for the gatherings you can have in the yard and around the BBQ. At first we were concerned about no air conditioner coming from AZ, but soon learned you didn't need it with the constant breeze from the ocean. We were close to everything and loved Lahiana. We would return in a second. I think they just need to add a change machine in the laundry area.

Our visit to Maui and our experience at Polynesian Shores was wonderful. Our 3-bedroom, 3-bath unit was so beautiful. We had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The view from our lanai was indescribable from sunup to sundown. The atmosphere at Polynesian Shores is very laid back, beautifully tropical and friendly. We will definitely return.

My wife and I decided to take our entire family to Maui for our summer get together. So, nine of us flew out of San Francisco to Maui and spent a week in two condos, 201 and 105 at the Polynesian Shores. The units are older, but the atmosphere and the location is absolutely wonderful.

The staff was extremely helpful, and they made the entire family feel welcome and appreciated throughout our stay. Our children that came with us, were ages, 25, 24, 16,14,12,11, and 11 months. The 11 month old we have gaurdianship, and the Polynesian Shores was perfect.

We ate in twice, and the bar-b-que on the deck over the beach was a great place to cook. Pool is nice, the grounds are neat, and the views are stunning. The kids snorkled and fished.

One of the units was a three bedroom, and the other was a one bedroom. I would heartily recommend this property to travelers of all ages.
