“Ver nice restaurant!”

We love Gerard's and come back every year. Once again it didn't disappoint. I love the Duck Confit. I didn't care for
The Strawberries Romanoff but I think it was just me. You won't regret spending a little extra for that special dinner.

“Not everyone's money is good here...”
Reviewed January 28, 2013 via mobile

We (party of 6 adults) stopped into Gerard's for dessert and drinks. The dining room was nearly empty, excluding 3 tables of two. We told the server initially why we were there (aka not a 5 course meal). Upon his obvious look of disgust, he made a mild attempt at seeming to be happy that he had any customers at all. After spending almost $300, he couldn't split the bill because they didn't have a computer (calculator would have been sufficient.) They do charge 18% gratuity for tables of 5+ which explains the less than courteous service. It is a wonder the place was empty at 6:30 on a Sunday evening. Save your money for someone who actually wants to earn it. The appetizers and dessert was just o.k.

“Wonderful setting for a peaceful dinner experience”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Gerard's is one of our family's special meals when we visit Lahaina. The restaurant is located in an old Victorian house and set back from a cross street (Lahainaluna) leading to Front St. For optimal ambience ask to be seated on the porch so you can enjoy the often gorgeous night time temps. while you take in the wonderful meal you'll surely have. Yes, it is on the expensive side, but we have always found all the dishes, whether they be appetizers, entrees or deserts to be the very best we've had anywhere on Maui. Save Gerard's for that special night and enjoy the terrific service, absolutely mouth watering food served in a quiet and relaxing setting. Our teenagers even love having dinner there!

“Amazing ambiance and setting”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Food is very good too, and so is the service. The mahi mahi is well prepared. The special asparagus soup was very good. All in all a very good experience. There is only one problem. And that is that Lanaina Grille is a block down the street and you should be eating there, every night.

“Mediocre food, high "quality" bill”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

During our 15-day Hawaii vacation, we ate out at a more expensive restaurant (> $200 for two) at least every other day. We knew that Gerard's would be one of those restaurants, but we had a $50 coupon from our hotel (a sister hotel of the Plantation Inn where Gerard's is located) and the reviews were good. We both love good French food or French-inspired food. Unfortunately, we didn't quite find that here. The food was mediocre and by dessert, I was really not interested in pursuing the rest of the meal there. That is my personal sign of a restaurant that was not inspiring.
