Description: Right on the water and in the heart of historic Lahaina, Kimo’s brings you and your o’hana (Hawaiian for family) a casual, completely Maui dining experience. Renowned our “postcard” views of Lanai and Molokai, we offer a menu featuring fresh Hawaiian fish, prime rib, prime steaks and the original Hula Pie, Kimo’s has been a Maui must-do for over 30 years. The upstairs main dining room shows the architectural influence of New England on the former whaling port, with koa-lined walls, missionary-style furnishings and maritime memorabilia. After dinner, Kimo’s lanai becomes a very cool hotspot for tropical cocktails and Hawaiian music. Live entertainment is offered on weekends and select week nights.

“Food was ok but ginger mohito rocked!”
Reviewed June 2, 2014 via mobile

The best thing about this place besides the stunning sunset views is the live music on Sundays and Mondays. Two guys play acoustic guitar and play songs from Hawaiian to Classic rock. They made our trip. Benny and glen are their names. My only gripe is they stop at 800pm. Ginger mojito was terrific!!

“Average food in an Oceanfront setting”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

Knowledgeable relatively attentive service in a beautiful oceanfront setting with a casual ambiance. Reasonably priced menu with fair wine prices, although somewhat limited selection. The shredded pork lettuce wrap and Ahi poke and Avocado tower were quite good. The entrees were much less impressive. Although the seared ahi tuna was good, the parmesan crusted Ono was dry and lacked flavor. The Mong Chong grilled in citrus was good but not great. The Hula Pie dessert was a hit.

“Get the 32 ounce prime rib. Serious...”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

Ok, ok...
I know when you're in Hawaii, you're supposed to eat the fresh fish. But you can only eat it for so long before you crave something else.

Kimo's is consistently outstanding, as well as their sister properties (Hula Grill, Leilani's, Duke's, Keoki's Paradise on Kauai). Not only outstanding food and drink, but superb service.

We made reservations for 5:30 pm. Hoping for a table "by the rail" to view the many beautiful sunsets from their top floor (bottom floor is the bar food area only and has some entertainment until around 7ish.
The tables fill up fast and sunset in May is around 7 pm. We scored one.

We knew exactly what we were going to get and prepared so during the day...light breakfast, no lunch.
The 32 oz. “Kimo’s” bone in Prime rib.
The finest Double R Ranch® prime rib, house made au jus.
It came with a fresh vegetable medley and mashed potatoes (some options available).
DO NOT get the 14 ounce smaller version. It's not as good. I know.
If you can't eat it all, take it home to your condo and have it with eggs in the morning or make a sammie.

This is SERIOUS prime rib. SERIOUS. I concentrated almost exclusively on the prime rib. Very little roll or veggies. No appetizer. It was going to be meat and dessert tonight, because THIS is the most flavorful, tender piece of meat you will most likely ever sink your teeth into.

Time for dessert! More than enough to be shared with two!
This is what the sailors swam to shore for! A Lahaina classic for 36 years.

The Hula pie was comped. Why?
Put this on your smartphone...free...$8.95 value. Just flash it at your server and it's a done deal!

This is the bomb for dessert. DO IT!

Epic meal, awesome sunset from the rail. Wow!
The server chuckled and said mostly only the locals got the prime rib.
The tourists were hitting the fish.

Get the 32 ounce prime rib...
Check out my pics...

Until next review, stay hungry my friends.

“Awesome food, drinks, and atmosphere”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

My sweetie and I went to Kimo's on Front Street and the atmosphere was great. The food and drinks were outstanding, and the customer service was great. Erica was our waitress, she had the biggest smile on her face and she did an outstanding job explaining the menu to us. I can't remember what I had because of the strong drinks but I remember the food was excellent.

I highly recommend this place as it does not disappoint.

“Reservations are NOT a priority”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

It was our last night in Maui on our honeymoon and all the reviews raved about how good the sunset was from this restaurant. Called and made a reservation in late March and today is May 29th. We get there and have to wait 10 minutes and get a mediocre table behind a pole and the palm trees and could not see the sunset at all. I could have stayed at my hotel bar and got a way better view without going to dinner and going to a completely overrated restaurant that has "ok" food. The hostess explained that it just all depends on a first come first serve for that time of the evening even if you have reservations. I thought having reservations means you get priority seating? Glad I got to enjoy my last sunset in Maui by not seeing it at all...
