Description: Right on the water and in the heart of historic Lahaina, Kimo’s brings you and your o’hana (Hawaiian for family) a casual, completely Maui dining experience. Renowned our “postcard” views of Lanai and Molokai, we offer a menu featuring fresh Hawaiian fish, prime rib, prime steaks and the original Hula Pie, Kimo’s has been a Maui must-do for over 30 years. The upstairs main dining room shows the architectural influence of New England on the former whaling port, with koa-lined walls, missionary-style furnishings and maritime memorabilia. After dinner, Kimo’s lanai becomes a very cool hotspot for tropical cocktails and Hawaiian music. Live entertainment is offered on weekends and select week nights.

While in Maui for 10 days, this was definitely the best restaurant we tried while we were there. Both entrees were delicious, service was friendly, and the water front view on their patio amazing. Wish we had a chance to go back during dinner when there was music. Next time.

Kimo's is by far the best restaurant on Front Street. This place is not touristy or cheesy. Its just a good restaurant, where you can get a great meal. I had the best piece of mahimahi here and the hula pie for dessert is a must!

This is a very romantic restaurant. Food is wonderful. Fresh sea food and steaks. The calamari is wonderful. Great sunset views of Lahaina Harbor. Always a night out for us when in Lahaina.

Our lunch was very good. We had the Fresh Fish which was delicious and the Beach Bunny hamburger was very filling and great. We sat near the water and the view was outstanding.

Fresh fish is what makes Kimo's so popular. It is casual, very large, right in the center of the busy, main shopping street in Lahaina, on the west coast of West Maui. No reservations for small groups, so we gave our name and waited an hour, some of which was spent in the lounge area having appetizers and drinks. Several excellent appetizers kept iur stomachs content. The main dining room is upstairs (reminding us of the good fish restaurants in Boston's Faneuil Hall area). Each of the four of us ordered a different entree, all fresh and well prepared. I tried the signature beef offering-the giant, 3" thick prime rib (a small fortune, but very tasty).

We ordered one Hula Pie dessert for the table. There is no pie in Hula Pie; it is ice cream, but it is the main dessert wherever you go in HI restaurants, so you might want to try it once. On the street, the main item is shave ice. This is what is known as a slush puppie here on the mainlan-a mound of shaved ice with flavored syrup squirted over it. Sometimes,it has a scoop of ice cream underneath, as the base. It is best skipped, but the kids like it, so...........
