“This place is a dream come true.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

I have been to Hawaii 5 times and can say without hesitation this is the best beach, best view you could possibly imagine. Perfect virtually private beach, views of two other islands, stunning sunsets, visits from sea turtles, great snorkeling. The grounds exceptional as well, immaculate and beautiful landscaping.

We stayed in 205 - A. Upgraded kitchen, two sinks in bathroom, washer and dryer,a balcony with a spectacular view. Wonderful breeze all the time. The street noise in the bedroom is the only downside. But we slept very well,it never really bothered us.

Our fellow vacationers ranged from young honeymooners, families with small children to older couples. We never felt crowded or were disturbed in any way. Everyone was so polite and considerate.

We will be back ....

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

My husband and I along with our adult daughter stayed here for five nights from March 30-April 2, 2013.

In all our extensive travels, we have NEVER stayed in a better equipped unit. There was an abundance of glasses, plates, bowls, silverware, cookware, plastic bags and storage containers, bag clips, spices, condiments, drink stirrers, drink recipes and even a Panini Maker. That's just the kitchen! In the living room we found a wide variety of DVD's, books, two pair of binoculars, a desk fully stocked and even a sewing kit. In a closet under the stairs to the master bedroom loft, there were beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, snorkel equipment, and beach toys. They also supplied colorful, thick beach towels, large bottles of shampoo and conditioner and laundry detergeant for the FULL size washer and dryer. Did I mention the heating pad?

The unit is a nice size with two bedrooms, one immediately to your left when you walk in the front door and the other is a loft bedroom with a king size bed. Although there is no airconditioning, there are ceiling fans, table fans and skylights that can be opened. There are also two bathrooms. We found the condo to be very clean, comfortable and cheery. It's on the fourth (top) floor so the views of the ocean are spectacular. On our first day we saw so many whales from our lanai that we lost count. We ate ALL our meals outside at the bar height table. The only time we heard noise from our neighbors was when they were on their lanai watching whales and squealing in delight!

The condo complex is made up of two buildings with about 24 units in each. The pool is adequate in size although the water was quite chilly when we were there. You can relax on a lounge chair on the grassy lawn that butts up to the seawall. There is a small beach where people were swimming and snorkeling from. We saw turtles everyday. The manager/caretaker was out early each morning maintaining the grounds and pool area which were very well kept.

We booked this condo through VRBO and found Linda (one of the owners) to be very easy to work with. We received a welcome package in the mail which contained a variety of helpful information and Personalized luggage tags. Linda even made arrangements that allowed us to check in early. We also received our damage deposit back very swiftly.

I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a relaxing, laid back experience without the scheduled activities and crowds of some the bigger resorts.

We recently stayed in B-402 and it was wonderful. The kitchen was huge for a condo and was well equipped. Keep in mind the master suite is a loft but waking up, laying in bed and seeing the fabulous view, it was no big deal. We would definitely stay there again.

Stayed in a marvy unit, but owners are allowed to smoke, and they do. Second hand smoke wafts onto your lanai...cigars and cigarettes. Also "savesies" is played with the chaise lounges. If you don't get your towel down there early, you don't get a chaise. Some never use the chaises! The units are beautiful, however.

Room Tip: All seem to have great views of ocean. Stay away from elevator- .

I didn't want to write this review because I want to go back and want the availability so I was trying to keep it to myself so no one else would know how wonderful this place is.

We (husband, 8yr old son and myself) arrived Oct. 2012 and stayed for a week in this wonderful condo. It's on the top floor, 4th, and has an unobstructed view of the beach below. It has a private beach with a private pool. The beach is spotless and so are the grounds all around Hale Mahina. They do have a quiet time curfew at 9pm for all of the condos which is nice so you can enjoy the serenity of the water and your surroundings without having to listen to a bunch of noise. We were lucky enough to swim with sea turtles everyday and got to see a rare sea lion right off of the beach one early morning.

The condo has everything you could want or need. We didn't have to bring anything except ourselves, clothes and food. There isn't any a/c but if you open the windows in the front and open the back door there is a wonderful cross breeze. My only criticism would be that the room at the front of the condo that overlooks the parking lot can be noisy due to the traffic from the street. The condo was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.

The owners were very easy to deal with and sent luggage tags, maps and information when we booked.

We think about that trip and the Fish Condo quite often and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: All the condos are owned by different people. If you want the Fish Condo you need to book the Fish...

We are returning shortly to this location - very nice down to earth condo with great swimming, reef, views. This is a very reasonable cost with all the amenities one needs in paradise. Swimming pool is adequate with a nice hot tub. Grills available in a secured private beach. Direct access to the water. Turtles on the shore. Sunsets perfect and nice viewing of Whales.

Room Tip: Used ChaseN'Rainbows - reliable folks

This condo complex is 45 minutes from the airport. Be sure to hit the Costco before leaving that side of the island. The great thing about this condo complex is it is on a very private, beautiful beach with a nice sized pool and the grounds are kept beautifully. The turtles seem to stay at this beach most of their time. These condos are individually owned so some of them have been renovated.
B 402 - You cannot in good conscience advertise a condo as ‘luxury’ without backing it up with more than just a sub-zero refrigerator. This particular unit was probably a luxury unit at one time but not in this or most the last decade. The kitchen and bathrooms are in need of renovation. The kitchen garbage disposal is so old it leaks into the cabinet cavity causing it to be incredibly unsanitary and smelly. The bathrooms are awkwardly designed and whatever toilet bowl sanitation is being used it smells worse than a public toilet. The upstairs master bathroom has a funny little bathtub that you step up to and whenever you’re showering the water accumulates to an inch deep by the time you finish. The main TV is the current flat-screen design but upstairs the TV is from some other decade,is way high up without a working channel changer.
Things you should know before booking: –
• The back bedroom is very noisy. Garbage trucks coming every other day and road traffic makes it very difficult to get a good night’s sleep
• BBQ are not propane/gas operation and there are only 4 of them – be patient
• Itty bitty ants are part of the tropical climate so again, be patient and clean up after yourself - store all food in the frig

I would recommend the resort but not the unit until some repairs/renovations have been made.
