We have been coming here almost every year for the past 10 years, and every time it gets better and better! It is so relaxing here with a great ocean, awesome pools, and nice rooms. Wes and all the workers at the pool staff are always so friendly and make us feel at home! They always walk by with a smile and a hang loose waive. I could stay here all year round!
Thanks KOR!

The location is ideal , best beach on the best island in the world. The only decision is whether to take two steps to the beach or two steps to the pool ! To really obtain the aloha flavor ask for Tosh in service express.

Went there based on an invitation for 5 nights. The presentation was good but I'm not convinced a timeshare type of vacation is for me/us...

We are in our mid 30's and enjoy relaxing vacations. The resort was a bit crowded with many children using the hot tub as their own wading pools. The restaurants were just ok. Drive to Lahaina or take the hotel shuttle into town. There are many food choices there. We went to Kimo's (great bar with live music). Also, Leoda's pie has the best sandwiches and banana cream pies. It was well worth the drive.

Room:
Somehow they upgraded us to a one bedroom. The room was very nice and large. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai and relaxing in the room. The bed was nice and comfortable. The bathroom was large and very clean. For a beach resort, everything was fresh and clean. Furniture was good and well taken care of. We made 2 meals there and found the kitchen to be well stocked. You can bring your own condiments or to to the larger market on the premise to purchase a small cup of several travel sized condiments for about $3-4 bucks. We went to the Napoli market for fresh meats and groceries.

Beach/Pool:
I was disappointed the lounge chairs on the beach were not free. Otherwise, the beach was nice. The pools were nice and clean. Lounge chairs are all out in the open, so lots of noise from kids playing. The adults pool is situated in an area that gets a lot of wind and no sun. The pools at the Westin hotel are slightly better with some pockets that are tucked away and sort of private.

Overall, this was a nice resort with good amenities. Everything was clean and as expected for a Westin resort. I know what to expect and they never disappoint.

My only complaint: This is a family resort. I have children of my own and was hoping to enjoy some R&R without children. There are many children running around and wading in the hot tubs. I plan to visit Kaui next as I have been told by other visitors that Kaui is very quiet and has less children.

We received an incredible offer by the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort for five nights for an island room, so we decided to come see the resort. An island view is wonderful, seeing Maui instead of the beach is just fine with us. When we checked in, we were so exhausted we barely minded that our view was of a wall! Not an island, but yes, a wall! After 14 exhausting hours of sleep, the front desk was gracious enough to search for other rooms, explaining that the fourth floor in the north building does have that problem, and that many people complain. Our room in particular seems to be higher than the others. We were moved after two days to the room next door, that was perpendicular to the one we had prior, so you can see the high wall below. If you wish to sit outside, your knees will hit the wall, and your face will literally be looking at a wall, not an island. If you stand on your tiptoes, you can see over the wall and look at the ocean and pool. However, when you sit in your room, others can see right into your room, so it appears that the only view taking place is of you, by others!

That being said, the rest of the resort was wonderful. The room was spacious and the kitchenette was perfect for just the two of us. The Jacuzzi tub was a wonderful added bonus as well. There are two buildings - north and south, and each have different pools. We stayed on our side and this was fine. It does state that the pool was heated, but it was not. Nonetheless, it's Maui, it warms up. The beach is beautiful as well. You do need to rent chairs at the beach if you wish to have them.

The Pailolo Bar is a good place to catch up on sports if you feel out of the loop. It was a great for the World Cup. The food was ok, but the happy hour mai tais are worth it! (4-6 pm).

Since Hawaii attracts families and couples alike, this would be a great place for all. But, if you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway, you may want to look for a smaller, more quaint place because there are a lot of kids here...as there will be when you have timeshare units.

The staff was great, from the front desk, to the pool staff, to the concierge, and to the bar. Oh, and Tash, the valet, was wonderful! Service was excellent.

As a tip, if you have an island view room and you check in and you are direction to the North tower, you may want to rethink this if you are given any room from "6445 - 6452." Room 6452 is probably the worst, though, with hardly any balcony to speak of and a very high wall. All of these are on the fourth floor, in the sixth building, facing the wall.

Room Tip: As mentioned above, be wary of the "island view rooms." If you check into the North Tower...

This was our 3rd time to Maui but first time at this resort. The grounds are very nice and we came here because of a special they were offering to non-owners. Well worth the money, but if you are not an owner don't expect them to care which room they put you in. We had a parking lot view and the studio was not as nice as the ones in the pictures. They are on the older south side. The fridge was smaller and the room was older. However for the price we dare not complain. Took the tour and would have bought but its not part of our financial plan at this time. The beach front is amazing. I noticed in the pictures that it didn't look like a lot of people were in the water, could be because their is a reef right in the entry of the beach, which for me is amazing because the snorkeling is the best. We took a tip from another review and bought 2 beach chairs from Kmart by the airport that saved us $20 a day. We left it their so go to the lost and found and claim it along with 2 floating noodles. LOL The food was good and the staff very nice. Shuttle will take you to the Whalers village, Lahaina and their other properties. Great if you don't want to rent a car. We did and if you do you MUST eat at the Gazebo restaurant for breakfast...delicious and the best views. Also take the time to drive to Mamas fish house, its about a 45 min drive and worth every mile. If their are 2 of you that is best because it is pricey but on a scale its a 10. Bring a camera the views are amazing.

Room was well appointed and comfortable. Pools good. Most staff not friendly and the "life guard" at the slide didn't pay attention and an adult landed on my kid. Signage impossible to find anything. Good location but no aloha feeling sadly.
