“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

We stayed here on our first trip to Hawaii, and we weren't disappointed! The front desk staff was friendly, the rooms were spotless & very nice. We had to call down to get maintenance to open the safe we locked ourselves out of, they came right away & had it done it less than five minutes. The whole property is beautiful, pool areas are nice & clean, with cabanas for rent,or regular pool lounger chairs. We will definitely stay here again!

Stayed at this resort twice and loved it both times. Great facilities and fantastic beach with some of the best beach access snorkeling on all of Maui. Provides shuttle service to Whaler Village and to Downtown Lahaina.

Room Tip: All the rooms have the same luxurious amenities, the basic difference is the view and associated pri...

The property is enormous, and you have to wind through the maze to get to your room, but the room was very nice. The kitchen was kind of bare bones, but we loved our deck, and it worked out nice to put our son to sleep in the bedroom and still be awake in the living room area of the condo. The pools are nice, but there aren't enough lawn chairs, and the servers rarely come around for drink orders. I expected resort prices, but $5 for a small fountain diet coke was a bit much, especially when a beer was $6. Food by the pool was okay, food at the Italian restaurant was excellent, and the convenience store is handy, but expect to way overpay, like $12 for a 6 pack of beer. We were in the North Villas, and enjoyed the pool at the South location too.

Our family of five stayed in the North Tower of the Westin in August and it was absolutely perfect! We wouldn't have changed a thing! The location was exactly what we were looking for with plenty to do but not totally packed with people. The beach was gorgeous with great swimming and snorkeling we were completely content and didn't feel like we needed to go anywhere else for great snorkeling. We booked a Deluxe Double Room so our girls could have their own Bedroom, Bathroom and Kitchenette and it was attached to our room which had a full Kitchen, Eat-in and Family Room with large deck that connected to our private Bedroom. It was stocked with everything we needed so we could eat breakfast and lunch in then go out for dinner. There were grills and tables throughout the grounds of the resort and we saw many families using those and would definitely do some grilling on our next trip. Our rooms were clean, spacious and well appointed and we had a beautiful ocean view. We booked through Costco.com and had daily housekeeping and a rental car included which helped to truly make it a vacation. There were laundry units in the closet which was very convenient with kids! The pools were fantastic, the grounds were beautiful and the pool side restaurant had great food and service. The guests were all lovely people too - lots of families and everyone was very friendly. The only negative was having to leave, it really was a perfect, perfect vacation and we loved every minute of it!

Room Tip: We booked a Deluxe Room through Costco and asked for a garden or pool view and got an Ocean View. I...

The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas is an amazing property. Their open air front desk is at the top of my list for most beautiful check-in areas. We had a Large One Bedroom Villa and it was great! Since we had the kitchen we went grocery shopping for breakfast and snack items and three out the seven days we were there we made breakfast and ate it out on the patio. Gorgeous! You are literally right on the beach and the pools were beautiful. I love how you can use the amenities at both KOR and the North property. Not going to lie though, I got lost more than a couple of times trying to go between the two so make sure you make note of what you pass on your back to the room. The shuttle is also helpful. If you go during whale season, you can see them from the beach if not, from your balcony! Overall, it was an awesome stay and we will definitely be returning.

We own a few timeshares through Westin (Starwood) and they never disappoint. We love that we always know we can expect the same high quality no matter where we go when it is a Westin property. This resort was no exception! Great location on Ka'anapali Beach with some of the best snorkeling at its back door. We stayed in a 1 Bedroom Premium Suite which has everything two people need, although technically it could sleep 4 (pull out sofa). Full kitchen with washer and dryer as well. We will be back!!!

Room Tip: We stayed at the North Villas and loved our room in Building 6 on the 5th floor with a partial ocean...

This is our third time here and this time I didn't rent a car, using SpeediShuttle to get to and from the airport and the resort. After all, the last two times the car just sat in the parking lot all week. Two of us were in a studio with an ocean view, facing the beach from the third floor in building 5.

One of us snorkeled every day, generally in the "swimming" area to the south. Two turtles every day and lots of Tangs, a zebra eel and Wrasses in little pods. I worked on my tan at the pool by the bar. There was a lot of Marco-Polo ing at the larger pool that I didn't pay too much attention to, lost reading Game of Thrones. We did have wind almost every day and the pool in the south development was definitely less windy than the north side.

Had a great dinner at Pulehu one night, with a risotto encrusted Ono entrée and a burrata caprese as an appetizer. And did the crab buffet over at the Ocean restaurant which was okay.
Used Maui grocery delivery to have groceries dropped off. Talking with some locals they tell me Demming's grocery service is better. I just found MGD easy to order from--Ill write a separate review of it.

In terms of the Westin, it was another great experience at this resort. Accommodations are nice, resort is big, clean and service very nice. Only thing I don't like is those Westin beds--too soft for me and why two comforters are needed in Hawaii--but that is the Heavenly bed for you. Next time we will be there during whale season, the latter part of February.
