Relaxing, great location, clean pool and of it's in Hawaii.

The rooms are exactly what you would expect from the Westin brand.

Don't forget the spa and related massage services will start your vacation right.

We highly recommend staying at the Westin on Maui.

Room Tip: high floor unless you can get one on the 1st floor to walk out to the pool

My husband and I spend 4 nights at this resort in October 2012. The staff was excellent and so helpful. Our 1 BR Ocean View villa was lovely! The pools were great and the beach was perfect for laying in the sun, swimming, or snorkeling.

We got the same invite as others from SPG and took advantage of it, everything was delivered as promised. When arriving on the Island we upgraded our initial car rental from a Mustang convertible to a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon since our luggage would not fit in the Mustang. They took our $185. credit from SPG without any problems. When we arrived at the Westin it was obvious the place was huge and the largest on the Island according to person who checked us in. It didn't take long to realize the 'Island View' is not what we would want on a vacation and upgraded from a Studio to a one bedroom with lanai with a nice view of the ocean. This was for an additional $100.00 per day plus $4.17 State tax plus $9.25 Tourism tax plus $7.29 for parking so it really cost us about an additional $20.71 per day on taxes and parking. We did do the meet and greet with a Concierge where we received our $75.00 credit as indicated again by SPG. They did attempt to sign us up for the time share presentation saying it would be 90 minutes and we'd get a credit or something similar of $100.00. The last timeshare presentation we went to was in Mexico - 60 minutes and we got $300.00 credit so we passed on this and didn't show up on whatever we were signed up for. No problem. We had several meals at what they refer to as the Ocean Pool restaurant - nice food, decent drinks, no complaints. We tried to have dinner at the more expensive restaurant they have but found it to be closed on a couple nights during the week - big mistake. The grounds were beautiful, a lot of activity going on all the time, the room was great....the only problem was a personal preference. The place was way to large for me, I like resorts but not this large. I was told it has over 1000 rooms which I believe. Walking from one building to another was a real pain - the halls were like chambers and easy to get lost in. Would we return? Nope, too large for us. If you are handicapped I would look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Go look at the room before deciding. Each building is different. We looked at 4 rooms before upgra...

Had our second visit and again, love the place. Comfortable room with kitchenette. Balcony with a peek of the ocean. Multiple restaurants. A great way to say Aloha to the sun at the end of a lovely day. The friendly staff made it feel like visiting old friends! Highly recommend

The room was large and laid out very nicely. Kitchenette, bbq's (we did use it after catching a fish on a sport fishing trip), jetted tub, walk in shower, super comfy king size bed, pull out couch (didn't use since the kids didn't come on this trip). We only had tidy service (sheets and towels) once for our 5 day trip but we didn't need more than that anyways. Pools were very nice and the beach in front of the resort was great and less crowded than on the other side of black rock. Complimentary resort shuttle was very handy for when we didn't want to have to drive and park to eat at some of the other areas on Kaanapali Beach. The only thing I thought lacking during my stay was the poolside service. At 2 separate pools, we sat in our loungechairs for close to an hour and never were asked if we wanted anything. Value was exceptional for us as we had a great offer for our stay and the timeshare presentation was optional to attend.

Just returned from our visit Oct 21-26 2012. We traded in to this timeshare. Beautiful spacious clean modern. The bed was very comfortable. We had the 2 br unit on the top floor of the West building. We had a view of the road and the mountains. Road noise was a little loud but mostly we didn't notice as we had the ac on. Loved the barbq grills, cold drinking water near the pool, shuttle to Lahaina and other resorts, and plenty of room at the pool with shade. (Supposedly it was 80% full but we had no issues in getting a pool chair in the sun for some of us and in the shade for others). We did not eat in the restaurants as they were quite expensive.

Only negatives (which are few): They charge $10.00 per day for their parking. Beach chairs are not free either. There didn't seem to be a lot of communication about the shuttle or other amenities; nothing in our villa that told us about it. We had to find out towards the end of our stay. Finally I was expecting a package which contained my custom orthotics for my shoes that I had inadvertently left on Molokai. I checked in person at the front desk and by phone for 2 days in a row and front desk stated they didn't have them and would call when it came in. They never called and after tracking the Fed Ex package we found that they had accepted the package a full day ago. When I called Kevin at the front desk he admitted that they had them but hadn't gotten around to calling us! I sure could have used them for that extra day they sat at the Westin's front desk. Oh well.

All in all a beautiful place. Best snorkeling of our trip right off of this beach.

Room Tip: We liked being on the top floor. If you want an ocean or pool view do not accept bldg 4 in the sout...

Just left the Westin ocean villas in Maui. It is truly a slice of paradise on earth. I was greeted at the reception by polite and helpful staff, who, after a late flight arrival (after 11pm) ensured we had access to some snacks and drinks, although the shop had officially closed. This was very much appreciated after over 20 hours of travelling.
The studio villa I stayed in was spotless on arrival, and the room had a modern kitchenette and washing facilities. The location of the property offered a unique experience with beautiful beeches and ocean only meters away. The beech and ocean had a real exclusive feel due to the fact there were so few people (outside the resort) with easy access to this section of stunning shoreline with soft sand and coral reef teeming with life, within 5 meters of the break. Another great touch is the shuttle service which runs between the 3 local starwood properties and the local shopping centres (including Lahaina town) this enables you to experience some excellent variety of dining and local culture. If you happen to get Eddie as your driver, you will also pick up some local history and facts about the island. He was also spot on with recommendations for shopping and dining. The resorts dining locations were also very good, but could maybe increase the variety of dishes, as if you are staying for over a week (and want breakfast, lunch and dinner), you will end up going through the whole menu. That said there are also many BBQ stations (along with the kitchen in the villa), I just wasn't keen on cooking while on vacation!!
All the staff were ever attentive, without being intrusive, which I know from experience never seems to be a trait across all the staff, but this was my experience.
Overall an excellent experience which I truly hope to repeat in the near future.
