“Wonderful place”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

Hyatt has no beach at all, so stay somewhere closer to Westin, which has wonderful beach. You can do some snorkeling here too. Not much but still. Oh by Hyatt, there is a jet ski. Definitely do that. It's so much fun. We even sav dolphins swimming by less then 50m away!

great snorkeling right on the beach, sand is soft and doesn't get too hot, water is wonderful but watch out for the surf when getting in

“Incredible Beach - but please do not touch the sea turtles!”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

This beach is incredible smooth with very little issue with rocks - that being said you still need to be mindful that there are rocks! During our stay in April we incurred some strong under toe currents so be very careful with kids. Buy a boogie board at ABC stores, don't rent one and use it for your stay - and give it to a guest when you leave - perfect quiet rolling waves for the most part (but under toe can be strong). No life guards on duty. Go to the beach/cliff area of the Sheraton Maui and snorkel - my daughter and my boyfriend swam with sea turtles and some incredibly vibrant fish -watch the vacation cliff jumpers jump into the ocean near you. We had some humpback whales swimming off in the distant. Note - It is illegal to touch sea turtles and you are supposed to keep your distance - I saw many adults and kids touching and surrounding the turtles (even one hit it) the turtle could not get to shore or swim away! Shame on you - The activity and rental places need to post signs and do more! It was disgusting to see this happen. No matter what language or country you are from - most people understand that sealife is not to be touched or followed or harrassed. I am only one voice and could do no more than shout to the adults and children to leave them alone! Please get educated - Hawaii is home to many critically endangered species of animals and plants.
