Top service, good selection of boards for all abilities, reef booties and board tie downs no extra charge, convenient location. Local knowledge of surf beaches for your ability. Lessons available if Charlie don’t Surf. Soft and hardtop boards.
Good pricing. 10/10 rating by us.

Our 2 boys, aged 9 and 12, had a great time learning to surf with Uncle Freddy. The school is very well located in central Lahaina, and Kyle keeps things running smoothly and well organized. We opted for the semi-private lesson. The nearby beach seems perfect for learners, with a regular flow of even small waves. A bit of instruction on the sand and then off to catch waves! Non-surfers can find a shady spot on the beach to watch from, or have a stroll among Lahaina’s many.shops and the famous Banyan Tree. Definitely a highlight of our stay in Maui.

We had Rentton and he was wonderful. He helped my 12yr old son enjoy his experience and get up his first time. We really enjoyed our instructor and the experience.

Such a great experience! Kyle took our group out for an early morning paddle board. We were a mix of experience so I appreciated his focus on safety and debrief on the beach. We saw lots of coral and fish, even a few turtles! The shop is a fun and welcoming spot to get your gear together and settled. The experience is a must do on Maui and Waveriders are an established group so we knew we were in good hands. It’s worth the money to book a lesson if you’ve never surfed before- glad we ignored the reviews that say otherwise. Locals appreciate it and don’t like folks having no clue what they’re doing in the line up. This is the ocean and not Disneyland. :)

So right you are, this is not Disneyland. The conditions are ever changing and the lineup works different then the queue at the park. We appreciate you letting the locals have a break not flooding the lineup with newbies and respecting the ocean. Hope you caught a ton of waves and look forward to seeing you in the water again!

We signed up for group lessons for our group of 7 (3 generations) and had a blast. Our instructors were Jimmy and Joshua, a father/son team. This is a professional and well organized operation. Yes, it is a physical activity so it’s not for couch potatoes but my parents (both 72) were able to stand up as well as everyone else in our group. So happy we did this. Jimmy and Joshua were great and really made this a truly memorable experience. The pictures by Andre were priceless! Do it, you won’t regret it!

While teaching a surfing class of 5 he tried to pick up a girl giving her free lessons and paying less attention to his actual students. Was bragging to his paying students about getting her number etc. Told his students to f’ing get on the board and continued to use profanity. I am no prude but have never seen this this level of unprofessionalism ever. Maui Waver Rides should fire this guy. Would give a one but the company as a whole was fine. This instructor was terrible. Enjoy a lesson a MVR but make sure you don’t get Willy!!!
