Great resort with an awesome location. Small beach right out front you can sunbathe in. Also has a decent size pool with 5 grills next to it. Lots of parking, and right across from the Whaler's General Store, Maui Brewing Company, and lots of other small restaurants and mini mart. Great stay for good price. Great sunset view from the 11th floor.
Plus laundry in your room! And most importantly, AIR CONDITIONING!
We rented an independently owned unit #1211. The Royal Kahana has amazing views, is very clean, the staff is extremely pleasant, it is not overcrowded, and has direct access to the beach. Would definitely return again.

We arrived late at night, and our check in was smooth! The next morning we had an issue with our room and they resolved it immediately, and upgraded us from a studio to a 1 bedroom!! Best customer service we have ever recieved at a hotel.
Parking stalls were small, but we never had an issue finding parking!
The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Plenty of dishes to make your own meals, and a full size coffee maker! We spent a lot of our day out on the patio enjoying the view!
The pool was perfect and they had plenty of lounge chairs and tables.
The Shave Ice place was ok, limited options.
The location was great, nice little beach to hang out on and watch the sunset, tons of restaurants and a little store within walking distance, and bigger beaches are a short drive away!
We will definitely be back!!!
We are finishing up our 9 day stay in Maui. We rented an independently owned unit at Royal Kahana (Unit 220) and it was perfect for our party of 6. The complex is very well maintained and the area is very nice as well. Pool was a nice size; the beach is right outside the pool gate-it was exactly what we were looking for.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Khanna by outrigger this past week. I am writing to you because of the outstanding customer service that we received by Angie Latu.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Mrs. Latu and she informed us that our room (Ocean front) was not ready at that time, so placed us at a different room and comped our first day without requesting that from her. Then she placed us in a room with ocean front, as required by our reservations, and made every effort possible to make sure that we liked our new room and that we are happy with it. She and sister in law made every effort to make us happy and checked with us all the time to make sure that we had a great time.
I am currently works in the service business and I have yet to encounter an individual such as Mrs. Latu. Her interpersonal skills were outstanding, her communication skills were excellent and her intuitiveness of customer wants and needs exceeded our expectations. These qualities are rare in one individual, yet Mrs. Latu possesses all.
I am writing to you to let you know that you have an outstanding employee that should be used an example of how to treat and deal with customers. She possesses excellent interpersonal skills and has a great customer interface skills. You are fortunate to have an employee such as Mrs. Latu on your staff.

A second individual on your staff, Mrs. Lofa Latu that I want to mention here as well. She was extremely helpful, supportive and made sure that our visit is memorable and enjoyable. Each time we are at the lobby she made sure to say Hi and smiled and asked about our stay. Lofa is friendly and has great customer communication skills and always made sure that we are satisfied. Great individual to have on your staff.
