This hotel is a mix of timeshares, privately owned units and company owned units. Each room is different but overall nice once you get the mix of the place. Great place to get used to snorkeling and nice and quiet. Staff is friendly, and willing to help out. People who live here are polite and respectful. Great bargain to be right on the water and sleep each night listening to the waves crash.

I was in town for my brother in laws wedding ... I booked this condo a few months ago.
When I got to the property, check-in was easy and my room was ready.
The room was perfectly adequate for me. A 1 br garden view. It was nicely stocked with everything BUT a frying pan!
The property is located so close to everything! Market, gas station, cafes...
The units have no ac - but the cross breeze is fantastic!
The price was certainly right and I met some super nice people.
I had no issues with housekeeping and always had fresh towels and the basics that are provided.
Don't compare it to a 5 start hotel, because it's not.

I will definitely be staying at the Paki Maui on my next trip!

We stayed at the Aston Paki Maui on our last trip to Lahiana, Maui. I must admit we were enticed by the affordable price.

The location was fair.
The staff not very accommodating. (Incorrect advice on the availability and location of car rental agencies)
The condo we stayed in was a very small 1 bedroom. The queen size bed was very uncomfortable and just about everything else in the condo was worn out.

I would recommend it for the price, but little else.

Our trip was in May 2010

First and last time visit to Paki Maui. We expected a couch, linens and decorative pillows that didn't smell like other people. We expected a dishwasher from thiscentury. We expected our TP and tissues to last as long as our stay. We expected generally thorough cleaning before our arrival. Guess what? None of those things happened. Such a disappointment. And the pool had this oil slick going on..... And, because we were staying in a private condo, the front desk had to be seriously coerced into stepping over 5 feet to look through two small drawers of Lost and Found so I could get my very expensive prescription glasses back that I had left at the pool (a public area.) Plus, there were no blinds to counter the blinding sunset, so we had no choice but to close the curtains, thereby missing the sunsets. What a waste.

Room Tip: Check out this site to see Paki Maui's ranking. It is number 32 out of 42. Nuff said.

With a new (oct 2013) on site mgmt co, the 49 hotel rooms are being inspected and upgrades identified. When you make a reservation, insist on the best conditioned room.
The concierge desk is very helpful for all activities.
Don't forget the farmers mkt across the st on mon, we'd, fri. Also good food across the st.
Next to the ABC store is Ono Taco, terrific food.

I choose this hotel because the packet hotel + car a bit cheaper than book separately and still get the ocean front, so my money worth a lot to stay for a few days. The hotel are just fine with 4 stories but our room was the ocean front, really nice to see the ocean with background the Lanai Island just in front of our room/lanai/patio also the sunset pretty good as well as the sunrise too. When the time ready to crowd to the bed, the wave sound make you feel in different way like the earth sing a lullaby continuously until you're really deep sleep, the breeze make you relax and sleepy and in the morning wake up with fresh spirit to continue the other adventure. This hotel had everything from kitchen, utensil, coffee maker, blander, refrigerate, etc also for BBQ in front the ocean, free parking, free hifi, coin laundry( we did use ), close to farmers market ( try Maui organic pineapple so juicy and very sweet ) also others market and the good news is no resort/hotel fee like other resort perhaps. Will come back one day to stay again.

Room Tip: ask higher level for your ocean front also for the garden view

We stayed in a 1br ocean front condo. The ocean view from the patio was amazing. We intended on keeping our kids in the bedroom and sleeping on the sofa sleeper in the front room, facing the ocean, but the sofa sleeper was not comfortable enough to actually sleep on. The condo itself was very old. It was clean but no amount of cleaning could erase the wear and tear over the years. The carpet was sticky and stained and the dishwasher and refrigerator showed damage. The bathroom resembled a dark and depressing closet. No AC, just a ceiling fan in each room. However, you can't expect much for these prices and we were just happy to be ocean front. The garden in the courtyard is very pretty and nicely maintained, as are the pool and lounge chairs set out in front of the ocean. We probably spent more time at the pool than in the room anyways. At low tide there is a few slivers and patches of sand directly below the retaining wall that we enjoyed sitting out on while the kids played in the sand and tide pools. They especially enjoyed the small tide pools that had small schools of fishes...small clown and angel fish. The location was nice with a nice coffee shop, grocery market and several good small restaurants across the street.

Room Tip: For maximum ocean views, get an ocean front room that is near the center of the building.
