“Happy here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Our stay was for 24 nights - yes a long time in one place but we did fly from Australia. We had a 2 bedroom ocean front, with 2 bathrooms for the 5 of us. The boys (11,13) had a room with 2 single beds, my partner and I the master bed room with king sized bed, and my daughter (8) had the pullout couch/sofa. The kitchen had a full sized fridge and oven, there was also a microwave, dishwasher, and a coffee maker which I eventually got to work after a couple of false starts (don't have one a home). Note here a little tight fit for the oven and dishwasher, as to open and close the oven, you need the push the buttons on the front of the dishwasher in sequence to allow the oven door to go down and up. There is no air conditioning which I thought might be a problem, but if the room did get a little warm as the sun was setting(they face west) but once it was down, opening up all the windows allowed the cool breeze from the garden area to flow through, cooling it well, the overhead fans were on the entire time we were here. (It could be a problem in the humid times of the year) Abby our cleaner came through every day and spruced up the place (making beds, taking out the e rubbish and replacing towels) Reception was helpful, and responsive to our needs ( light bulb changes, how to work the shower....) and had a great beach towel exchange system - get in early they sometimes run out. We made use of the concierge facility and had snorkeling trips, and zip lining. As we had a ocean front we had lovely sunset views each night (sushi at sunset!), and the constant sound of the waves rolling in. We arrived during the USA spring break, with people commenting how busy it was, we did not find this to be the case, as mostly we thought it was a nice quiet place to stay (there are always people who feel the need to hold loud conversations outside your unit at 2 am but this was a once off, not a regular occurrence). Honesty it is not the flashiest place I have stayed in, and I am sure if you wanted to throw money around you could find more impressive looking places. However we found it comfortable and a relaxing place to stay.

Room Tip: Worthwhile having ocean view

This is a time share property, not a hotel. So don't expect the amenities and service that hotels offer. But if you have a family or are retirees and want a quiet base of operations consider this. No sandy beach and the pool is tiny. You can snorkel if you are willing to navigate the few rocks. The benefits are outstanding views in a private setting, watch the sea turtles that come by every day, the whales in the spring, enjoy the public park next door or the "chill" atmosphere in the farmers market, fish market and Bad A$$ coffee shop. A short walk to Kaanapali or short drive to Kapalua. Big rooms. Many are individually owned and managed so furnishings and cleanliness vary.

Couldn't beat the ocean view, but the room was a dump. Probably hadn't been renovated since the 1980's. Dirty mauve carpeting and old furniture. However, was impressed with the small kitchen. Would we stay here again for the money we spent? NO.

Got back yesterday from 6 glorious days (Sunday to Saturday) in Maui! Stayed at the Aston Paki Maui as we had had a great experience at Aston Maui hill for our wedding.

Had room 409. It is an oceanfront, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom condo near the south corner (and not anywhere near the elevator), top floor. Cool thing - the stairs are right next to it so you can move fast and get your exercise. Gorgeous view, Lanai had a table and 4 chairs that were comfortable.

When you walk in, there was a hallway and to the right is the bedroom with a queen sized bed and a good sized closet. After the bedroom (not connected), there was a bathroom on the right. It had one sink and a shower/tub combo and a toilet. Further down the hall is the living space. There was a couch with a pull-out bed, a small glass top coffee table, and an end table. It also had a glass top desk under the flat screen, wall mounted 42ish inch television. This also had a dvd player and a cd/cassette stereo/radio. In addition, there was a glass top dining table with 2 chairs. To the right of the tv was the kitchen with a laminate counter, white appliances, and white cupboards. The range was electric. Everything worked perfectly. A little weird - there were mirrored walls EVERYWHERE! Bow chicka wow wow, lol. Another odd thing - the light switches were in places you would not expect. I turned on the garbage disposal every time I wanted to turn on the kitchen light.

Caution!!! If you pull the balcony door closed behind you, make sure it is fully in the unlocked position! Don't ask me how I know this, but the front desk staff did not pick up the phone until 8:15 am and I went out with my coffee at 6:30 am. Thankfully, I was clothed.

The room was cleaned every day and it was to our satisfaction (although I have 4 boys 13-22 years old and may have relaxed standards) and the white carpets were fully white, not icky.

The people were very kind and courteous and everyone greeted us with a smile and had an answer to our questions. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of the BBQs or amenities because we ended up eating breakfast or snacks in, and going out for most meals.

We ended up renting snorkeling gear from Snorkel Bob's and going somewhere new everyday - it was awesome! The little guy was not there so we could do happy hour every day and take advantage of cheap eats. I would say that for the price, this was a great deal as long as you don't expect a five star resort at a bargain basement price.

We had the most peaceful, restful, and beautiful trip. We stayed at the Paki Maui in Room 108. It is a 1 bedroom ocean front room! We had everything we needed and more. Beach towels, beach chairs, ice chest and boogie boards for the beach and everything that we needed in the kitchen. (Our room also had two hair dryers and an iron/ironing board.) When we got there the first day we opened the glass sliders and they stayed open the entire three weeks. Paki Maui is a small and quiet resort. It has a great pool and hot tub. The jets were not great, but we met wonderful people there every time we went. The bed had a wonderful foam topper and it was soooooo comfortable. As we cooked breakfast or dinner we looked out on the ocean and saw the whales spouting and jumping. So cool. We would definitely stay here again.
We like the smaller resorts that are have fewer people and that is what we found here. Always more than enough lounge chairs on the nice grassy lawn next to the ocean and a beautiful garden with a water fountain. From our room you could hear the waves crashing and the fountain gurgling. So peaceful. The sunsets were beautiful from the lawn! All around a great place!

This condo complex has beautiful grounds and a great view of the ocean. We stayed in a an ocean view room on the first floor. I will start by listing the positive aspects of our stay and then list the negatives.

Pros:
-Good floor plan with two lanais and the master bedroom opened on to one of them.
-Next door to a park where kids can plan.
-Plenty of parking with shady spots to keep your car cool
-Close to grocery store
-Beautiful grounds
-Daily housekeeping with change of linens and light cleaning
-Unobstructed ocean view
-Pool and bbq area kept very clean

Cons:
-We requested a crib when we reserved the condo in November and called to make sure that one was available 1 week prior to arrival however they did not have one for us when we arrived and did not ever provide it despite numerous requests to the front desk. If you are traveling with a young child make sure that you bring your own crib.
-There was some sort of electronic device directly behind the condo that emitted a high pitched noise all day, the only saving grace was that it shut off at night to allow us to sleep.
-The oven did not work in the condo (this was not discovered until the last night so I do not know how quickly they would have gotten it repaired.)
-Floors appeared clean but were filthy if you walked without shoes on. As I witnessed the housekeeping being done I do know that they vacuumed the tile floors but only wiped it down quickly with a mop not actually cleaning the tile just getting the pieces of sand off the floor.

Overall I might return and stay here but would look for other places.
