I used to dine here a lot and hadnt been in for awhile .I ordered over the phone and went to pick up my order . the place was dirty , the glass partition over the prep area was greasy .. the cook came over and took some money out of the drawer, put it in his pocket and then went on to handle food without washing his hands .. this used to be the bomb with great food in an immaulate setting but no more ..

We've been going to Okazuya for several years. It was originally recommended to us by a few of the locals. . No real sit-down tables as it is mainly for take-out. The food is EXCELLENT and well prepared. Excellent price too! Any fish on the menu that start's with the letter "O" is always great tasting (Ono, Opakapaka, etc). Usually a line out front. On a budget and still want local fish that's well prepared ... this is the place !!

If you're staying in Kahana, you might be wondering where to eat. Honokaowai is a good choice for a wide range of comfort-food options. They have fish, which was pretty good, sandwiches which were very good, and Chinese food, which we didn't try.

We went here twice, one time for burgers, and the other time for some fried stuff. As you might gather, not exactly haute cuisine, but I thought the quality was pretty good.
The burgers were medium well, well seasoned, and hefty patties (for $9, it was as I expected). The fried plate we got included panko-breaded mahi mahi, coconut shrimp, and the egg rolls. The egg rolls were pretty middle of the road, but the fried seafood was expertly fried and cooked well.
Did not try their chinese food offerings, their eggplant parmesean, or their moco loco.
They offer a smattering of casual foods and all entrees were under 20.
Pretty low on ambiance, the only seats inside being a pretty narrow counter, and a few outdoor tables. However, if you're in the area the food travels reasonably well.
Their fries were pretty good.
I would have definitely returned.

We went for a late-ish lunch, about 2:00. Got 4 different dishes across the family, all very good. Reasonable prices, at least by Maui standards. Sat outside at a simple table in front and were very happy. Will go again. Cash only, btw.
