I highly recommend green beans with wasabi. We will be addicted to it. I ordered 3 times during my 3 day stay here. Nice pool too.

“Nice option if at the Hyatt”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

Honestly, we only ate here because we were staying at the Hyatt. It was a little expensive, but the food was pretty good. The kids like the Sliders and Chicken Sandwich (De Kine?). I had the burger which was enjoyable.

Quick food delivery and relatively good, great location. Outdoor table tennis to keep kids of all ages entertained while waiting.

“Captive audience”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

We were staying at the Hyatt Regency and there's few choices for lunch if you're out by the pool. We ate three meals here and 2 out of the 3 were not very good. If you're staying at the hotel it's more a matter of how to get fast, quality service and which menu items to select. Otherwise I don't understand why you'd drive or walk here for a meal.

Service is slow most of the time. The exception is at the bar. The bar knocks it out of the park. Waitstaff have too many tables for the little support they receive (food runners and SA's). Granted there were some difficult customers there for a doctor's convention - (little Brianna needs more ice, little Briana doesn't like the bun used for the burger can we have another, oh and little Richie doesn't like his chicken fingers can he have something else - no kidding this went on for 5-7 minutes each time the waitress returned to their table) but during the other 2 meals the staff wanted to take an order quickly but otherwise slow. Yes, I know it's vacation and you're at a resort but 10 minutes to get water/drinks is a bit lengthy for a hotel like this. I don't fault the waitstaff as much as the managers who were standing around looking like they wanted to help but weren't doing anything. And, on our first visit to Umalu 3 out of 4 orders were incorrect.

The $17 nachos were enough for 1 person maybe 2 if you're not too hungry. Veggie pizza ($25) was very good and enough for 2 people. Fish tacos ($19) were ok. Light on the fish, heavy on the cabbage. The jack steak sandwich ($19) was good.

Figure about $25-28 per person. The hotel management can do better than this.
