We were surprised by the great food and wonderful service we received from Longboards. After reading the other reviews for this restaurant, we reluctantly ate here when we didn't want to venture off our home resort one evening. We wouldn't hesitate again. In fact, we are looking forward to our next meal here.

We were staying at the Marriott where this restaurant is located so that was handy. The first night we sat at the bar and had an
appetizer of delicious coconut shrimp. We ate there again and
it was very good the second time. Nice to be able to sit outside
and view the sunset while you are dining.

We have dined at Longboard's for over ten years, mostly because we always stay at the Marriott where it is located. Over the years it has always been a convenient, not outrageously expensive restaurant to have dinner at. The food and service always ranged from good to mediocre. The location and ambiance, of course, is hard to beat. We were there last month and everything was the same as its always been, but that will change soon.

This has always been a Marriott ran restaurant, but soon that will not be the case. The restaurant is being outsourced to an external company and will be called something like Kaanapali Grill and Tap Room, if I remember correctly. As the name suggests, a large selection of tap beers should be available. I also understand it will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, whereas Longboards was only a dinner place. This renovation should be happening as I type this as Longboards' employees were all being let go when we were there last month. I am hoping that everyone finds another job, and that the changes in this restaurant will make the Marriott and even more attractive place to stay. I'm looking forward to trying the new restaurant when we are there next June.

This was our highlight meal of our week here. Right on the beach, great music and awesome sunset. Crab not over done or over salted. Prime Rib, amazing.

Best prime rib I think I've ever eaten. Restaurant is outside on the beach. Nice view. Kind of expensive but we splurged for our last night in Maui.
