Nice food. Mildly expensive for what you get, but a nice experience and pleasant location. Good burgers and fish tacos. Beware for charge for refills on pop.

After a long day of traveling, and considering we were staying at the Marriott, we had dinner at Longboards. We dined at the same location at the Marriott in Ko Olina on Oahu last year and it was fabulous so we were excited to have a Longboards here also. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. They didn't open until 5pm which surprised us since the resort is packed and all the other restaurants have a wait.

Our meal was nothing special and our waiter acted like we were taking up his time-no great customer service at all. Perhaps that's why they aren't open very long?

My husband and I had casual dinner at Longboards; given that the restaurant had few guests - we arrived after 8 pm, we were surprised to be seated at a table close to kitchen and waiters' travel path. Was this because we weren't hotel guests? Prices were expensive, but in line with most Ka'anapali beach restaurants. The food was okay - we split a coconut shrimp appetizer and beef stir-fry and steak entrees. Service was fast. Overall, nothing memorable and we wouldn't recommend you go out of your way to eat here. It is a so-so place.

We ate here because we were staying at the Marriott and they gave us a gift certificate. The food was pretty good, the service was just okay. It's very convenient and it's located right on the beach.

We stopped by at around 7 pm on Thursday for a light meal of cocktails and pupus. The patio was busy, but I could see three or four empty tables close to the entrance.

My husband asked the tall blonde hostess for a table for four. "There is a fifteen or twenty minute wait," she told him.

I pointed out the row of empty tables, and asked if we could perhaps have one of them. The hostess gave me a radioactive glare, clenched her teeth, and repeated, "There is a FIFTEEN OR TWENTY MINUTE WAIT."

I gaped at her in shock.

Fortunately, the other hostess on duty saw which way the wind was blowing, and quickly intervened to offer us one of the vacant tables, which we accepted. And after that point, everything was fine--our server was friendly and the food quite decent, especially the coconut shrimp. But the incident at the hostess station definitely cast a pall over the evening.
