Awesome boat, food, and crew. Never overcrowded, and not a bad seat on the boat. Spend as much or as little as you like on food and drink, you can even bring your own if you prefer. We come to Maui every year and have brought many different people with us on the Hula Girl. Unanimously, it is their favorite activity of the vacation. Disregard those who complain about being charged when they don't show up. The staff will do all they can to accommodate guests. If you need to change your reservation, they will do it. On our last trip, a group of 24 called when we were scheduled to leave and asked the crew to delay departure an HOUR! Sometimes people only think about themselves, not the people who are already boarded and ready to go. I've never had anything other than a great experience with the Hula Girl.

Email from Hula Girl said show up at 4:15pm for the sunset dinner cruise. At 355pm they called to say we were late.

They did hold they boat but we felt like we were outcasts. Then two of our party of four were servered their dinner AFTER we started the trip back to the beach. And we were never offered dessert (the two of us that got a timely dinner). Very dissatisfied with the whole thing. Apologies don't make up for no dinner. The crew (no names because they never even told us! What a surprise all things considered) was more interested in the ridealongs they brought than the paying guests.

Pick another boat. It can't be any worse and will probably be better.

dont be late!!! they left half our group because we were a bit late. The trip was average, up the coast and back, we did get to see some dolphins but according to the girls on the boat that is very rare. Heard the ships captain saying to just close up and leave.

We had a great snorkel and dive cruise with Hula girl. We left around 9:30 am and sailed to Honolua Bay. There, the staff helped us with snorkel gear and instructions and we saw the beautiful reefs and tropical fish. Helpful, friendly crew. We saw spinner dolphins on the way there. The lunch was delicious - fresh fish, yummy salads and a decent kids menu. They also have a full bar.

Highly recommend.

Watch your bill this company has a habit of over charging their guests this is my third time on the Hula Girl. The boat is beautiful the crew are very nice The owner is a very different story. Two of my 3 adventures with them I was over charged and so was a few familes that I had recommended to sail on the boat. This last time they charged us for 6 additional passengers and then said we had a reservation for more than our group of 8 ( 2 familes ) At the time of check in we were checked in with 8 and they knew that was our group size at the end of the cruise we were presented with our bill in the amount of over 1500.00 dollars when I looked over the bill thats when I noticed the charges the crew was instructed by the owner to charge us after speaking with Inca the owner she insisted we pay or she would just charge our credit card anyways we were trying to resolve what was a good day when Inca the owner just hung up the phone and we were asked to exit the boat as they had to get ready for the sunset cruise about a half hour after we left the boat i recieved a voicemail from a woman who addressed herself as the boats bookkeeper she said that they had tried to charge the credit card and it was declined ( lucky for me the card was put on a fraud watch because of all the activity of them running the card over and over ) and left a very nasty voicemail that if I didnt make payment within 30 minute that they would call the police and report that we left the boat without paying i then called this woman back who was verbally abusive however now they were willing to except payment for 8 people I have referred many customers to this company I guess they dont know the value of a repeat customer all this over a few hundered dollars.

If you choose to go on this trip

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD PAY CASH

Please consider the source of this review. Our company policy is to take a credit card as a guarantee to hold the reservation, you are never charged until the end of the voyage. This customer made a reservation for 14 people and showed up with only 8 passengers. In the meantime we had held seats for all 14 people and turned away other guests all week. The customer refused to pay for the 6 no shows and in fact walked off the premises without paying for the 8 people who actually did come onboard and went scuba diving, had lunch, cocktails and even added merchandise such as T-Shirts to their tab. He also canceled his credit card while on board so that we could not charge him. We called the customer to inform him that his credit card was declined and he continually refused to pay the bill. Therefore we notified him of our intentions to take police action if the bill did not get paid. Only then did he pay for the 8 people who actually used the service and their tab, but left us holding the bill for $527.00 for the 6 passengers who did not show up. Again, consider the source.
