“Great vacation spot!”
Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in condo 11 for our anniversary vacation. The furnishings and attention to detail made us feel like we were in our own Maui home. The fuly equipped kitchen and barbecues allowed us to cook at home when we wanted to. The quiet beach just steps from our home was perfect for catching some sun or just relaxing. Everything was lovely and a great experience, so much better than a high rise hotel.

We stayed in unit 16, one of the 'basic' units. We had no problems. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. The lanai was open and pleasant. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The beach was smallish but pleasant. The grounds and landscaping were beautiful. The location was convenient. The locals were friendly. The other guests were lovely. We had absolutely no problems at this location. Thank you Kahana Village!

6 adults in our group shared a 3 bedroom/3 bath house -- wonderful views and the house had everything we needed -- we spent lots of time on the lanai and cooked some great meals in the well equipped kitchen -- just our kind of Maui stay!

Room Tip: We spent a week there in March 2010 so the date chosen above is not correct, but was the closest cho...

This is a smaller (less than 50 units) low rise (just 2 stories) wonderful vacation rental. Beautiful views, small sandy beach, BBQ's, awesome Mai Tai party, pool, hot tub, great location on Lower Road. The units are wonderful, clean, big kitchens and the super friendly staff is awesome. Would highly recommend Kahana Village.

Kahana village was a great place to have a vacation! I got a lot of rest and relaxation! Ur close enough to rest. N stores, and only 15 mins to lahaina. Do not miss the mai tai party! Excellent heated pool, beach, hot tub n bbq area. Stayed in unit 39! Nice unit, everything is there for u ( eapically in the kitchen) newer bathrooms and comfortable beds, very home feeling. Ceiling fans wit the door open really kept it cool inside. The grounds are beautiful!

There were 5 adults in our party. The master bedroom is downstairs with window facing walkway. The 2nd bedroom is on the 2nd floor and is a loft so open to view as soon as you go upstairs Two queen beds up there with complete bathroom. The sofa folds out into a queen sleeper. The living room is fabulous - looks right out onto the ocean. The lanai is perfect, too. The kitchen i large, well stocked and easy to work in even with a couple of people coming in and out. Very nice layout for relaxed visiting. We own a timeshare in Pacific Grove so were used to how vacation rentals work but had to look for the extra towels - there were plenty. And there is a washer dryer in the unit - very handy. We stayed for 5 nights and usually have linens changed after 4 nights at our timeshare. We weren't sure how that worked here - if we were supposed to ask for linens (there was no extra set in the unit) or if they provided those when called or if they came and changed linens if called. That should have been noted on the information sheet provided at checkin. Other information was provided like for the wifi - wonderful
There is a small pool that was used by the other vacationers and benches overlooking the beach which were great to sit and watch the ocean/sunset. The beach is wade-able or boogie-board able. A boogie board and cooler are provided in the unit for your use.
We found the location great. We did not want to stay in Lahaina - too busy - and the south seemed too quiet. Up the road is a fantastic volcanic trail that we discovered on our last day. Lahaina is a 15 min drive, the airport about 40 mins. Hike Maui - about 40 mins but a lot is right alongside the ocean and when the whales are sighted, it is easy to pull off an join the watchers.
The only disappointment with the condo is that the whales rarely come close enough to see without binoculars. They are pretty close to the northern point (by the volcanic path described below) and just a few yards outside of Waalea but in Kaanapali, they stay pretty far out. They seem to like to hug the far islands of Lanai and Moloki. We saw whales the closest to shore both standing on shore and on whale watch, in the Waalea area.
We had one mechanical problem with the shower knob on the upstairs shower which took a day to get fixed. That was the only problem with anything in the unit The furnishings were lovely, comfortable and everyone enjoyed staying there.

Room Tip: if you are traveling with couples who want 'privacy', the 2nd bedroom is not private no door...
