“Nice movie”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Small place, but worth the visit and also air conditioned so it's a nice place to duck the heat and learn something about the whales.

“Great info for the cost”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Only cost $3 to get in. You get pix and artifacts to review while listening to audio phone. Awesome info , extremely entertaining.

The best part is the FREE movies that play nonstop in the museum lobby

“Very interesting!!!”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

It is a very cheap activity to do and great for families and it is not a big place
You will learn quite a bit about the past US whaling industry and how precious the whales are to us.
After the visiting this museum, you can walk over and check out Black Rock (great for snorkelling and seeing turtles)...lovely grassy area to watch people go about their interests.

This was something fun to do while we were out exploring. We learned a lot about the history of the islands.

“This Is Well Worth Your Time”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

This is a small museum but will learn so much. If you've ever tried to read Moby Dick, now you'll get it. You'll get a sense of what the work, the boredom, the stale food, the poor pay, and the threat and fear of death were like during the 3-5 year voyages. You'll also get a sense of what it was like to be on shore for a short time in a whaling town like Lahaina. The entry fee is only $3.00. It will take 30-45 minutes to take it in at a cursory level, and you could spend 2-3 hours there, if you are really interested. In either case, it will be well worth your time.
