Stayed for 6 days. Had a rocky beginning as our room was not ready and did not find the front desk the most accommodating nor friendlky. However the situation was mostly remedied the next day but not until 3:30 the next afternoon. We paid for an ocean front room and while we did get an ocean front room we had a tree blocking our entire straight ahead view. I called the manager but it was the front desk that called back and it was the same unfriendly person that we encountered on our check-in. We decided to grin and bear it. The facilities were nice but I was not happy that we had to spend 45.00 per day for the use of two chairs and an umbrella. The hotel was expensive enough with the resort fee and the cost of the room that this should have been a guest amenity.

However I would like to commend two people.

JASON who works at the beach and GRACE the assistant manager who worked with us as far as staying in our room for a few hours as we had a late flight on our check out day.

Room Tip: Ensure you don't have a tree blocking the view you paid for.

We moved from the Ritz Carlton to this property because friends told us it had a great beach to snorkle off of. They we right as we saw turtles, rays, and schools of fish just yards off the sandy beach. It does attract a croud certain times of day but morings and late afternnon it was not at all crouded. The rooms a nice but not as large or nearly as well appointed as the Ritz nor is breakfast any where near as good. I did find the staff very friendly and very helpful and liked the location from which you could walk to scores of restaurnats and shops. It may not the the place you want if your looking for seculded pampering but its is a very nice property with a great beach.

We did like the fact they don't charge for valet parking the first night and the fact thatat least from our room we were perhaps 20 or 30 yards from the water and could hear the waves.

Glad we chose the Sheraton for our 30 year wedding anniversary trip. It's definitely in the best spot in this area being at the end of the beach. Black Rock shelters the beach in front of the Sheraton and provides great snorkelling. We saw turtles everyday, a pod of dolphins one day. Also did the scuba dive off here with the Sheraton Dive master and it was surprisingly good for a shore dive. Every evening the dive ceremony is performed at Black Rock whilst the sunsets providing spectacular photo opportunities. Sheraton restaurants are great as you'd expect but we strolled 5 minutes down to Whaler village most nights where there are heaps of options. Great having rental car to explore the island and there's heaps of great places to visit in nearby Lahaina.

Room Tip: We loved the Beach Front room we had in building 4. Its the closest section to the beach with spect...

We had made reservations in January for a week at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa. 1 week before we were to leave, I read that the rating went from 94 % to 71%. There is construction going on and the concierge was not responding to emails. We cancelled our reservations and rebooked at the Sheraton. What a relief! We loved this hotel. Everyone was so nice. The Lanais are surrounded with flower beds The pool was very nice. Ok, it 's not as huge as the Westin, but at least we could relax in a peaceful setting. The beach is fantastic. Everyday we saw 2 HUGE sea turtles just swimming by. The sunsets were lovely and the ocean....well, it was fantastic. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week here. We would definitely come again.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are great. You don't need an ocean front room. They are VERY far away from ev...

Stayed here for our honeymoon. Staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were fair. We had booked to do a kayak ride but it got canceled due to some water/Coast Guard issue. I would recommend leaving the grounds to eat though, quite pricey, although the breakfast buffet was worth it if youre a big eater. Our room was "upgraded" and we had a great view of the sealife. We also hit the spa for massages which was a good deal.

Nice quiet entrance. 45 min drive from airport. If platinum free valet parking. They also sent a care package with bottles of Hawaiian water, juice, snacks, and caramel macadamia candies. Gorgeous sweeping views of Black Rock and the water. Black rock is just a minute walk to end of beach.

Westin is a short walk down beach and has much nicer pool and is closer to the beach. Both next to Whalers Village lots of joggers and people walking as early as 6 am - tons of energy

Breakfast amenity if platinum is a good deal. 8 bucks for full bar options instead of 29. Fresh fruit is amazing as expected.

Not the luxury type of resorts in Wailea, but I really liked this place and the vibe. Lots of energy and the resorts are all lined up down the beach so great exercise cruising coast line on foot to hit them all. Rooms are very large (we got upgraded to a suite though) and of course the beach is awesome.

Not a ton to do at night at the resort so have a car so you can hit other areas.

Room Tip: All are good views but get one with a shot of Black Rock as people cliff dive at sunset and is fun t...

Currently here now! Arrived on November 1st. I don't know where the bad reviews are coming from as far as the dingy rooms and that the pool is cold and small etc, because our stay so far has been amazing. Our room is beautiful, not dingy at all, simple decor but nice, very clean and a good size. In fact, as we walk around the resort all I see are workers constantly cleaning. I walked by a room and I saw a housekeeper up on a step stool cleaning the walls and ceiling. From the time we walked in we were greeted with smiling faces. I was actually nervous before arriving because some of the bad reviews had me worried. Check in was easy, they knew it was our first anniversary and they gave us a ticket for a free bottle of champagne. Tony was our bellhop and he was super friendly, always smiling and very helpful with things to do and see. The pool is very nice. It's a good size and not super cold like it has been described.

The location is gorgeous! The grounds are very beautiful. The nightly ceremony at black rock is really nice and it's great to hear the traditions of Hawaii. We snorkeled at black rock and there was a turtle hanging out close to
shore. I can't say much about the restaurants here because we have been heading out for our meals which allows us to save some money (the resort restaurants are pricey) and give us an opportunity to explore Maui. We researched things ahead of time and we know that Maui is expensive so we came prepared. Some people complained about the resort fee and how expensive things are but again we knew those things ahead of time so we knew to expect that. Although I can see how someone who is not aware of the resort fee can be upset by it after all we are paying to stay here. I think it's silly that they charge a daily fee on top of everything else but like I said we knew ahead of time. We are here til the 11th and I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Maui. Which I definitely plan too!!
