Owner description: Ultimate Whale Watch specializes in photographic, non-threatening close-encounters with Dolphins, Whales & Turtles since 1982. We have hosted film crews from National Geographic to BBC Wildlife. Operating within the Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, we depart from historic Lahaina Town, Maui. From December through May, Humpback Whale encounters are guaranteed and the crystalline offshore waters frequently provide a passing subsurface eye-to-eye view. Many people are truly touched by their experience amongst these intelligent giants. Tour sizes are for small group whale encounters, 18 or less on a 24 passenger raft style rescue boat. Great maneuverability and speed get you to some of the closest whale action possible, in the world! To ensure current and competent information, the crew is involved with whale research and highly passionate about the whales. We invite you to come and see for yourself, one of the last remaining great migrations of the Animal Kingdom. And as always, a portion of each ticket sold supports whale research on Maui. Thank you for helping make a difference.

“This is the Ultimate in Whale Watching”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

We have been to Maui many times and have gone whale watching on many different boats. This is by far the best experience you can have. Their small fast boat allows them to position you to always see whales up close and personal. Their crews understand how to position the boat for you to get the best views and best photographs. I do a lot of serious photography, and Ultimate Whale Watch was suggested to me by a professional photographer in Hawaii, who uses them exclusively for his work. We had such a great time last Thursday that we signed up for the following Tuesday as soon as we got off the boat ( with a discount for the second trip, I might add). Don't miss this chance of a life time to really enjoy whale watching!!!

We had a great time today. We saw many whales and got as close as possible. One whale swam under out boat. This tour is so exciting because the pontoon boat in small so you get close to the water and they know where to go. I highly recommend it.

“"Best by far"”

Ultimate Whale Watch with Capt. Ryan and Noni were new to us this year, having had Capt. Eric and Capt. Rachel before in the last 10yrs. They were great fun, lots of info, tons of whales,
dolphins, breaches, babies jumping. They love what they do, and it shows. Highly recommend UWW to all who go to Maui. Every trip ( 6 in 10 days) was different, always a new encounter
morning, noon, or afternoon. A must do...

“There is a reason it's called the Ultimate Whale Watch.”
Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

I have never written a review before, but based on my experience with Ultimate whale watch, I was compelled to write one. The crew was friendly, knowledgable. The small boat makes it so much easier to see the whales up close and with a smaller group of people <20. I was able to capture a picture of a whale swimming under our boat with my underwater camera. As a bonus we got to see a group of Spinner Dolphins as well. I would highly recommend this Whale watch.
