Owner description: The BEST small group ocean rafting tours since 1982, Ultimate Whale Watch & Snorkel invites you to snorkel Lanai with us, as well as share photographic, non-threatening close-encounters with Dolphins, Whales and Turtles! Our rafting vessels host less than 26 guests per trip, creating a fun and uncrowded experience with Maui's marine life! We offer two different Lanai snorkeling tours, 4.5 and 6.5 hours on the water! Our snorkeling tours include snacks and meals, gear and multiple snorkel stops where you will be able to spot a variety of marine life along with our most beloved ocean friends, the dolphins! From December through May, Humpback Whale encounters are guaranteed and the crystalline offshore waters frequently provide a passing subsurface eye-to-eye view as we host tours, photography session and research groups. Make a difference and experience one of the last remaining great migrations of the Animal Kingdom. Your ticket supports freeing of entangle whales, whale research and education on Maui! See you out on the water!

If you are thinking of going snorkeling, go with Capt. Ryan and Noni. Absolutely the best snorkel experience we have ever been on with the most passionate and knowledgeable guides. We swam with turtles, fish and a mermaid! Ate lunch whilst dolphins frolicked, jumped and wiggled around us. Noni, our under-the-sea guide, stayed immersed with us the entire time, showing and describing to us the various creatures, including an octopus she brought up from the deep.
Captain Ryan at the helm, navigated the ocean telling us of the human and geological history of Lanai. He has an infectious sense of humour that had us laughing all the time. I could say lots more, but some things must be left for surprise.
If you don't have an underwater camera they will rent you one that is soooo much better than those cheap disposable things... 14megapixal camera!... and they will put your images on cd at the end of the trip. The camera even takes video.
Thank you Captain Ryan and Noni for an incredibly memorable day. We WILL be back!!! xox

A great boat, a captain and first mate with not only a LOT of knowledge, but winning personalities and a great sense of humor. They were really good with all of the kids too! The food supplied was fresh, healthy and delicious. They made sure we got to spend a lot of time with the spinner dolphins, we learned a lot on local Hawaiian history, as well as marine biology! The snorkeling was very pretty. Ryan and Noni are a first class team. Thanks, you two!! If you get to FL, look us up!

This is the only way to snorkel Lanai. The small craft may not have the total comfort of the bigger boats but what it lacks there is more than made up with what they're able to do in comparison. They can take you into blowholes and caves along the shoreline that you can't get anywhere near otherwise and the speed, and small party, allows you to hit 2 and 3 snorkeling spots. As an added benefit, when you get into a pod of dolphins, and there's a way better than average chance that you will, you are so low in the water that you could easily reach out and touch them ... BUT DON'T. The food, breakfast and lunch, is simple yet great. Muffins, fruit, veggie trays, deli sandwiches and marvelous chocolate chip cookies. The only drawback is, with the speed of the boat and the waves, it can get really bumpy at times out there, especially on the ride back in .... but overall, it is a wonderful time and we will definitely be return customers when we go back.

I was a little nervous going on this trip, being as it was my first time snorkeling. But the captain and the crew were more than helpful and supportive when giving me instructions and tips. We stopped at three different spots for a good 30 minutes. Unlike other tours, there are only a maximum of 18/19 people, which made it very personal. Snacks and lunch was included, and the weather was fantastic. If you are deciding between two snorkel tour groups, this is the group to choose. Both the captain and crew (Noni) were very knowledgeable about there whole surroundings, you can tell they really care about there job and the environment.
