I stayed there for a week, and absolutely enjoyed every minute!
The room was very big and extremely clean, and i was very happy with the service. At the time of our departure they even sent up porters to take our luggage!

This was my family's second time to this property and we have loved it each time. The staff is great and very helpful. They have always been responsive and timely. They go out of their way to recognize SPG status, but not to the point of putting those who are not at higher levels off. The food is fantastic and again service levels all around what you should expect from a Westin.

Room Tip: Beach tower is fully open. The Ocean tower is still under renovations but I was told they have 3 cr...

It resort was beautiful ... maybe I am biased cause it was my first time in Hawaii and everything was beautiful to me (haha) The front desk agent that checked us in was ok ... I think he was confused more about what he was doing or how to check us in. No matter, I tried to assist him the best I can with the information he needed (I work in Hotels) we got an upgrade to an ocean view and champagne in the room because it was our anniversary, no complaints about the room or its amenities at all!

All in all it’s a great place to stay and had so much fun!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in Maui last week to celebrate our Anniversary -- that is up until we ended our trip with a stay at the Westin. We spent 6 perfect days and nights in Wailea and then had an extra day and night that we chose to spend in the Kaanapali area at the Westin Resort and Spa. Our stay at the Westin was far from perfect and very disappointing.

When we checked into the Westin we were warned that there was major construction being done to renovate the hotel's rooms (of course this was obvious from the moment we pulled up to the hotel). We were given one of the newly renovated rooms -- 1049 -- and according to a note in the room we were the first to use this room since it had been renovated. Our problems started when the front desk failed to give us the correct room keys -- they gave us the old type of room keys that swipe at the door as opposed to the completely different new room keys which do not swipe. We had to wait nearly 20 minutes to get the new room key. We could have easily overlooked this inconvenience if it ended there. Unfortunately it did not.

We spent the afternoon at the pool and then went up to our room to clean up before we were scheduled to go to the hotel's luau. At that time we discovered that the room's shower was not working - absolutely no water. After two calls to the front desk, a hotel engineer came to the room to check things out. He could not fix the shower and called his manager, who also could not fix the shower. After nearly 2 hours of this we had to go to the luau without cleaning up. After the luau we went to the front desk to see what our options were. They gave us a room on another floor - a floor largely under construction -- to use for taking a shower. We used that room the next morning and were going to use it again before checking out. However, when we returned to that room, it was in the process of being gutted for renovation. Our personal belongings had been removed and were thrown in a garbage bag (including my laptop). Fortunately we were able to track down our things, but we could not use that room for a shower. Instead, we were sent to a third room to shower in (a room that was in the process of being gutted).

Before leaving we asked to speak to hotel management about our stay. Most importantly, we wanted to make sure the hotel did not book anyone else into 1049 until the shower was fixed because each time we talked to people at the front desk they seemed unaware of the situation with our shower. The most disappointing part of the experience is that we were told the managers were busy and that they would call us. Of course we have not received a call from the hotel managers or anyone else. I frequently stay at Westins and other Starwoods properties and this latest experience will unfortunately make me think twice about my future travel arrangements.

On the bright side, our stay at the Westin made us ready to head home.

Room Tip: Avoid until the construction is over and the kinks in the new rooms are resolved.

My girlfriend and I visited 3 hotels on our trip to Hawaii and thought this one was the best. Beautiful mountain view. Comfortable bed. Front desk staff & concierge were very nice. The beach is beautiful and the adults only pool is a BIG plus. Food and drink very expensive though.

We will definitely stay here again when we return to Lahaina.

Really love this hotel. Breath taking lobby. Staff is very friendly. Concierge desk is very helpful and knowledgeable. There could be more attendants at the check-in/out desk. Always seems to be a big line-up and wait at the busy times.
The pool areas are really fantastic...something for everyone.
We were at the Westin Moana Surf Rider in Oahu a few years ago and enjoyed Hawaiian music and dancing every evening(happy hour). that was so nice. Very disappointed that this hotel is lacking in that type of entertainment,

. Had to go to the Sheraton for that!!! This hotel as much as we enjoyed our stay is really lacking in entertainment.
The room cleaning staff was very inconsistent with what they provided each day. They did an excellent job of cleaning the room but for example two days in a row, the maid did not leave the complimentary bottles of water. Also we had (if you can believe) 15 bottles of body wash at one time!!!!! HUH? but we had to leave a note on the bathroom counter to please leave us some mouthwash! Too funny. All in all it was a great stay, especially with all the special things the hotel did for our anniversary celebration. We do highly recommend this hotel and hope to be able to make a return visit one day. And our new"friend" Carlito was so great every morning at the Relish restaurant for breakfast.

Room Tip: A great portion of the hotel is under construction. Make sure that you are not booked in to that tow...

My husband and I stayed at the Westin and loved it! Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by a a lovely lobby with pools, waterfalls complete with real flamginos! The beachfront and pool area was absolutely gorgeous too...waterfalls, waterslides, tropical gardens that wound around the grounds which we had fun exploring. The sand is soft and white and the hotel conveniently is situated on a boardwalk which adjoins several hotels, restaurants and shops nearby. We loved how convenient the Westin was :) The service was also great, from the front desk to the concierge, although we are not sure if its just Hawaiians and general who are just super-friendly! The only downside was the parking lot which was quite small considering the number of guests and it was often difficult to find parking at certain times of the day. Otherwise, we loved it and would definitely go back! :)
