Bathroom was tiny compare to other hotels of same level. Ocean view room can be very noisy at night or the other wings, only thing you will see is parking lot. Speak of parking lot, it's very VERY tiny, making some of the larger SUV's impossible to fit in side by side. The lobby, however was decent, as you can see in the picture.

Stayed here two nights before heading to our condo for a week. Got a decent deal and had a garden/pool view in ocean tower. Room was quite cramped for four people. The maid service was below average. Our beds were made with the bottom sheet about two feet too short so our feet were touching mattress, no replenishment of shampoo, coffee, etc. After calling, it was sent up.
The pool is nice and has a great slide, lots of seating but we were shocked that there was no kid area. The entire pool was 4 ft so if you have little ones, this might not be a good pool for you.
It was annoying that they tried to sell you sunblock (expensive) every time you wanted a towel.
Rooms were "tired" and small. Front desk was nice and helpful as we're most of the staff.
Workout room was nice as well, with a great view!
30 resort fee but that includes parking. The parking spots are tiny.
Overall a nice place but needs some tlc. Would look elsewhere for a pool that suits smaller kids.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and compliments. While our pools are known for being family-friendly, our sister resort (The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas) offers a dedicated children playground with a pirate ship for families with young ‘uns. We look forward to elevating your experience on your next visit to sunny Maui. Warmest aloha from all of us!

We have stayed at the west in Maui twice. Once was for our honeymoon and our second and most recent time was in October. The hotel does not disappoint. It is in a great location right on the beach, with great access to all of the activities. The pools are amazing. I would recommend getting a cabaña. We had one that was over looking the beach and they continuously brought us water and fresh fruit. The spa at the hotel is great a little pricey but well worth it. As for the rooms the balconies are nice to sit out and relax on. The rooms are not bad and considering they are getting an update, they should be incredible soon. I know people have complained about the service but I would say it was top notch. If I had to be picky and complain about any aspect of the service I would say that I wish the maids got done with the rooms a little earlier in the day because we like to go back and take a nice nap. Other than that though we can not wait to go back to one of our favorite hotels again soon.

Stayed at the Westin for 8 nights whist on Maui. Firstly the bad points; the staff were a bit rude and unhelpful on arrival, check in isn't until 3pm which is fine unless you have an early morning flight they will store your bags and give you towel cards so you can use the pools if you have your swim suits to hand. We stayed in a standard garden view room. The room itself was quite small and you could hear your neighbours coming and going. Also the housekeeping was pretty poor one day the cleaner had left the dirty pillow case in the room.

Now the good points; the hotel is in a great location just a short walk the the Whalers Village shopping mall and its restaurants. The adult pool was well situated and nice and relaxed.

We are delighted you enjoyed the resort’s close proximity to Whalers Village and hope you also took advantage of the complimentary shuttle service to Lahaina with more sight-seeing attractions, dining and shopping options. For early arrivals and late departures, the resort offers hospitality suites where guests can take turns to enjoy a bath and quick refresh by simply signing up at the Front Desk. Aloha and stay well!

Stayed for 4 nights. The location is great if you want to be in the middle of all the action on the beach. We were in the new tower and I think it has recently been updated. Our room was very clean and up to date. The out side areas of the hotel were O K. The front welcome area and drive way need a lot of cleaning. Just blow the leave off the drive and power wash the floor would go a long way to fix the problem. The lounges buy all the pool areas are placed too close together for my taste. The good news is you are only steps away from really good restaurants if prefer not eating in the hotel.

The last time I was in Maui was for my honeymoon over 13 years ago. At that time we stayed at the Ritz in Kapalua. This time, we came back to Maui with our two girls (8 & 10 yrs old). We wanted a family friendly resort, so we chose the Westin.... WHAT A GREAT CHOICE! On the morning of our first day, I went to see the concierge for assistance with planning our day. I met with Kathy Hamada.... she gave the best service I have ever experienced. Not only was she very attentive to my family's needs, but she took the time to help me plan meals and events for the entire trip. Most of the time a concierge is not very mindful of cost, but she was very good about trying to help us keep to a sensible budget and also experience all there is to do on Maui.
My girls had the time of their lives.... they could not get enough of the pools with the slides and cave. They also loved the calm beach in front of the hotel.
It was so nice to be easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.
My wife is very picky about room quality, but had no complaints with the room we were given... they even gave us a complimentary upgrade to an ocean view.
Also, this hotel has free self parking.... on many nights, we would come back and the lot was full, so they offered complimentary valet parking.

All in all, this was a successful trip and we will be sure to stay here again if we come to Ka'anapali.

Was a little nervous about what our room would look like based on other reviews, though everyone we talked to in person had nothing but good things to say. When we got to our room, our "Ocean View" was overlooking the expansive rooftop below us - yes, we could see the ocean, but below us was a football field sized concrete roof. We went down to the front desk and asked Dawn, the woman who initially checked us in, to see if she could move us. She was very polite and helpful. She was able to put us into an Ocean Front room for half our stay and an improved Ocean View room for the rest. It was wonderful! So nice to have voiced our disappointment and have someone been genuinely interested in making the situation - and our experience - better. Thanks Dawn - the Westin is lucky to have you! The amenities were great. As adults without kids, we really appreciated the fact that the property had an "Adult Pool" that was actually fairly big and situated close to, but separate from, the main pool areas. The beach was great. The Bellmen helpful. Can't beat the location. We walked along the footpath every morning and jumped into the beautiful ocean to cool off before starting our day. Would definitely go back - and will!
