There is a bit of paradise on earth!!! I truly enjoyed this hotel and their amenities, everything is within reach, great restaurants, shops and the most amazing each! You can spot the whales while you sit on the beach and enjoy the sun!! It is pricy but then if you want the something worthwhile then you pay, payyyyyy! Having activities within reach is awesome. The Westin Maui, s a great property. Would stay there again!

Room Tip: Just be lucky enough to have a great employ at check in! Although all rooms are great! You must requ...

A great well maintained property just out of town and away from the real congestion of old Lahiana. Great beach, shopping and food too!!!! The views are fantastic. They provide top notch service. It is a beautiful place. It is one of the best places on Maui to stay.

Room Tip: You would never have to leave the resort if you did not want.

We had a good stay here. The room was comfortable and the price was right. This was part of a package that included airfare and car, and the Westin was substantially less than the other options. Pools were nice. The hotel is undergoing some renovation so parking was extremely tight, and they offered complimentary valet for times when the lot was full. View was good on the ocean side. Room decor was a little dated but the room was clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Higher ocean view rooms will give you a great view and keep you above the pool noise.

We ran into all kinds of problems the 7 nights we stayed there. The hotel staff/manager were arrogant and unhelpful. Among all the other problems, the 2 room card keys would not work since day one. Every time we had to try several times before one of the keys (we had 2) would work. We had constant problems with internet service. The ice machine on our floor did not work the whole week we were there. The king size bed was old and very uncomfortable. When talked to the staff about these problems, their solutions were for us to keep trying different things. The service was very poor for what they charge. I would not recommend anyone to stay there.

We certainly enjoyed our stay there. Rooms were clean, beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The hotel definitely has all the amenities that one would want. I thought the pool areas were luxurious. Gorgeous beaches, beautiful sunsets. Snorkelling was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We just spent a week at the Westin on a business thing with a large group. The property is in a perfect location - right on the beach with lots of shops & restaurants close by as well as the restaurants on the property. It is a really quick drive to the town of Lahaina.

Our room was a bit cramped and dated- not what I usually expect from a Westin, although they seem to be in the process of renovating another wing of the hotel. The room did have the comfy Heavenly bed and it was very clean, so it was totally comfortable. We actually didn't spend much time there at all, so the fact that it was not as fabulous didn't really matter.

The service at the resort was great all around - the check-in staff, the concierge, parking attendants, the cleaning people, the pool attendants, the restaurant staff - all were incredibly helpful and friendly.

The pools were really beautiful and well laid out. They have a nice adult pool for times when you wanted to just be quiet away from children and the family pools were fun with slides and lots of places to play.

We ate lunch at the pool most days - the server was fabulous and the food was really good. The breakfast buffet was a bit steep ($30 per person) but then I think most breakfast buffets are too expensive. They seem to be priced $30-$50 at most resorts; honestly when do you ever eat $30 worth of eggs & waffles? That is just my personal opinion however - I got a yogurt, fruit and coffee from the coffee stand every morning - much less expensive and what I eat for breakfast anyway.

The main lobby was open air and there were really pretty seating areas all around the beach, pool, and lagoon. These areas were great for both sitting alone and reading or visiting with a group.

Room Tip: If view is important, ask for it - our room had a nice balcony but it overlooked the roof of the lob...

We have stayed at this hotel 4-5 times now. The first time, we thought it was great. That has changed on our recent visits.

The good:
- valet staff, especially Ronzi, go out of their way to ensure you feel welcomed and have everything you need. We really were blown away by how kind the valet staff was each day whether we were out for a run or coming back from an adventure in our car. These guys deserve recognition for their efforts to make every guest feel valued and welcomed.
- location is great

The bad:
- hotel is showing its age and is in need of updating - wear and tear evident in rooms and at the pool
- front office staff have been less than friendly or helpful when checking in or when expressing a concern (like the overwhelming smell of vomit in the hallway near our room)
- pool access: new 'pool card policy' is a bit of a nuisance (and hold a high fee if cards are lost)
- desire to sell timeshare units seems to be taking priority over pleasing current customers at this location
- SPG award nights mean you'll get a dark room on the garden level (loud birds fill the trees before dawn and at sunset) - we used to be able to use more points to upgrade to a better room (ocean tower or higher floor) but that no longer is an option, or so we were told
