Spent ten days at the Westin Hotel in April 2011 for a joint 60th birthday and anniversary celebration. The Hotel and staff were amazing - a birthday cake and bottle of champagne were waiting in our room on arrival, even though we arrived in the early hours of the morning. The staff could not do enough for us. The resort was like stepping in Elvis's film Blue Hawaii, the whole holiday was a dream come true. Would definitely return one day.

Room Tip: Always ask for a sea view.

We booked this by using points back in the fall for a July 4th stay. I used suite upgrades and had a very nice suite, ocean front, for our entire stay. It could not have been better. The rooms are nice and I did read where a few had not received the same. I must say, this is a big resort hotel and spa and if this were to have happened with us, I am sure the hotel staff would have bent over backward to move us.

The housekeeping staff upon arrival checked on us twice after we asked for some extra towels and pillows for 2 teenage boys. I thought this was exceptional. Once during the stay, they called to inform me they were outside the door as they did not want to knock as the "do not disturb" sign was on the door. This was quite thoughtful.

I want to give Kudos as well to the front desk staff, the bellmen, and the restaurant and bartenders at this resort. It is obvious they have been well trained and appreciate their jobs and positions. HR and management have done a fine job of training and hiring here.

Location is superb and the views are a 10. You are a couple of steps away from the Whaling Village ( good shopping and restaurants) and only 5 minutes from downtown Lahaina. In town we like Kimos on the water for dinner. They have a very good outdoor bar and super music entertainment. Another good spot to the left of the resort is Hula Grill. The beach bar was a happy hour stop and no telling who you will see there.

Adventure: Head over the Maui Easy Riders for the best half day trip of bike riding down the mountain. You will be met by the two owners, Billy and Billy at Baldwin Park at 9 or 1:30 and they take it from there. I booked the trip on line from the I Phone, payment etc... on Pay pal, and it was seamless. If you have kids they will love you for this day trip. Lunch after on that side at Mama's fish house on Cafe Mambo in Paia.

Roy's restaurant is also within walking distance of the Westin.. This spot is so close, you actually walk down #1 on the course and you're at the club house where it shares the building with the Pro Shop. We see a lot of golfers here after a round. Food is a 10. Service is a 10.

The Starbucks continental breakfast location by the pool is fantastic. If there is a line, no worries, enjoy the view as these three ladies crank out the Frappe's and Latte's faster than any Starbucks employees on the planet. This is the start of another day in Paradise. If you eat at the hotel, the breakfast or lunch and dinner are also superb and you will no be disappointed.
Platinum members can get free continental breakfast daily at the pool or upgrade to the full buffett at a discount. Good move and you will be happy with the selections.

You are in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Enjoy it and make everlasting memories of it.

Aloha

Room Tip: suite in the Beach or Ocean tower They are all quiet.

our stay was exceptional. We onlyfast buffet once, but it was good! the pool was very nice and clean, and the added activities was a nice touch. Having ukulele lessons on property was nice and from there we met Ronzie whose passion is playing ukulele and making coconut roses! He offered to teach my sister and myself added ukulele lessons! He is an asset to your staff!

Room Tip: we had a mountain view and it was nice, but the traffic noise from valet, which is not valets fault...

Our trip was amazing! Couple vacation using AMEX points. Hotel has all the amenities needed. The Concierge was great! I'm notorious for forgetting to pack things. All requested items were delivered to room within 10 minutes!!! Dined at hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was good and the coffeeshop and restaurants serve Starbucks. Cleaning service was wonderful! Virginia G. in housekeeping was GREAT!! Close to shopping at Whaler's Village. Adult pool upstairs is a nice quiet place to lounge with food and beverage service, but I opted for the cabana on the beach! Beautiful grounds, nice photo ops. Don't forget to use the photography service which is included in the resort fee. She takes great photos!! Can't wait to go back!

Rooms are outdated and dirty. Staff will acknowledge this but say we are too busy to keep up (they also say the Westin needs a renovation). Mold in the shower and AC vents. Balcony too dirty to enjoy. For the cost of the rooms this hotel is not up to Westin standards. Location is good but there are a ton of hotels in the area with the same location. Staff is nice but so is everyone in Hawaii. Look around before you stay here.

My family and I stayed at the Westin for 7 nights. It was a wonderful resort, but what made it excellent was Ronzi the Service Express Attendant. From the time we arrived till the time we left he was always there to help us. He gave us wonderful ideas on where to go for the day and local places to eat. Our trip wouldn't of been the same without him!!
