picked this place as a starting point for a 5 day driving trip around Maui. just ideal for the two of us while the remainder of the family group (9 people) stayed at the Westin.
The room was a good size, clean and accessible. We would stay for a week next time !

Room Tip: Pool view rooms on the ground floor are accessible and quieter than the beach front rooms.

I travel for business very frequently, so my expectations for Hawaiian vacation accomadations is defined by The Mauian on Napili! While it is surrounded by other hotels, it's a beautiful bay that is small enough to feel secluded, yet large enough that you do not feel crowded. We're repeat guests and will continue to stay here when we visit Maui. We've stayed in the studio suites closer to the beach and the sand is literally steps away from our front door. We've stayed upstairs, which has great views of the ocean, however, the downstairs rooms are just as nice and more convenient, especially when you're with a group and would like to hang out on your lanai/patio. Even being downstairs, the upstairs neighbors walking around in their room didn't bother me, despite being able to hear their footsteps. If you are on vacation and like to be outdoors and active, you definitely do not miss a television during your stay here. The pool is somewhat lacking, but I would never choose a pool when the beach is amazing and steps away! With a full kitchen in the studio suites, it can definitely keep your Maui vacation more budget friendly by buying drinks and eating leftovers. We love it here!

Room Tip: "Pool View" rooms all have 2 double beds in them. "Ocean View" studio suites truly have an ocean view when you're upstairs. If you're downstairs, your view is blocked from some trees they have planted in-between each entryway, but once you step out a bit, you have an amazing view of the ocean and it's steps away from your door!

Recently remodeled. New Beds too! 25 steps to the Napilli beach, from the furthest building. Ocean breezes to keep you cool in your room. Overall, a great place to stay. Nice restaurant (The Sea House) within walking distance.

We stayed here for two nights as the condo we were renting wasn't ready for a few days. This is located on the beautiful Napili Bay, it is quiet with beautiful white sand. You don't have to fight people for a spot on the beach here, it wasn't crowded at all while we were there. Our kids had so much fun running from the waves and playing in the sand. Our room didn't have a kitchen which was alright as we were only there for two days. We were on the second floor which was nice, the view was amazing and it wasn't even an oceanfront room that we had booked. Our room had two queen beds, and was beautifully renovated. Our lanai was very spacious with a drying rack on there for swimsuits and towels. We didn't sleep well here for some reason, not sure if it was jet leg or what it was but that would be our only complaint was our sleep. It wasn't noisy or hot so I am not sure why we had problems with sleep.
The only other complaint would be the parking. We arrived at 11:30pm with two very tired kids and a ton of luggage and there was absolutely no where to park let alone turn around once you got into the parking lot. So we had to park across the street and carry two kids and lots of luggage in to our room in the pouring rain.
The morning breakfast is lovely, freshfruit, juice, coffee, cereals, and thick sliced raisin bread(to die for). It was a great experience and we would love to come back here again. No tvs, no phones, wifi only in the Ohana room. This is the way vacation should be.
**Be careful for the swimming pool, it is deceiving in depth, the deep end is very deep and not marked properly so while we were there an elderly man nearly drowned BUT was pulled out by a bystander at the pool.**

We've stayed at the Mauian on Napili Bay on the Hawaiian island of Maui for 4 years in a row now -- it's just such a nice place! It's not big -- it's not fancy -- it's not a resort. So -- if that's the kind of experience you're looking for, this isn't the place for you. But if you're wanting to relax, enjoy beauty, comfort, and quiet -- and escape the busy-ness of the world -- this is your spot!! The hotel calls its rooms "boutique beachfront studios." The hotel's been completely renovated -- the grounds are lush, beautiful, and well-kept. The pool area is lovely and clean, with very high-quality gas grills available for the guests' use, and a covered picnic-type area to sit and enjoy meals outside if there's rain. The rooms are ultra-comfortable -- not stuffy! The ceiling fans keep the temp nice all the time -- no need for air conditioners. The design of the rooms makes a cross-breeze always available -- front door either open or windows opened -- and then back door opens to a small deck (or balcony on the 2nd floors) -- the breeze is perfect. The beds are deliciously comfortable. (And the "Quiet Hours" there insure a great night's sleep, hearing only the waves.) The rooms we get have a small, but very efficient kitchen built in -- a 2-burner radiant range with a mico/convection oven built in above (w/light and vent fan), a full-size top & bottom fridge/freezer, granite countertop, and large stainless steel sink with perfect faucet that has the built-in sprayer you can remove from the spigot. We buy all our groceries in La Haina at the Safeway (get a Safeway card if you don't have one!! It'll save you LOTS -- groceries on Maui are pricey!!), and stock up our little kitchen. We love to stay right there and grill steaks or chicken or fish. (Some smaller rooms just have a microwave and small fridge, I think....).The bathrooms are excellently simple -- pretty, but amazingly functional.(There's no room service, but they do have house-keeping there every day. A small tip each day with a little note that says "Thanks!" will make for happy house-keepers!) There are no TVs, no phones, no radios, no air conditioners -- we LOVE that we aren't bombarded with all this stuff. A true break! And the beach is right there -- 20 steps away. A great snorkeling spot, with tide-pools for those less-adventurous types! All the details have been carefully thought through at this lovely spot. It's simple, but perfect. And the staff is all so friendly. There's fresh fruit, breads, juices, coffee every morning in the Ohana room (we usually bring our own additions -- eggs or oatmeal). I could go on and on..... but look at their website. This is a wonderful spot - our whole family loves it. We have 3 teenagers, and we've required the vacations at the Mauian to be "technology-free" times -- no gameboys, no laptops, no cell phones, no DS, etc. -- and though this initially produces grumbling, the sweetness of the environment lures even them to enjoy themselves thoroughly, doing what kids should be doing on vacation to Hawaii -- playing in the waves, building sandcastles, burying your sister on the beach, reading books, taking naps, learning to play a ukelele...... perfect, in every way, for everyone!

Room Tip: We like rooms on the 2nd floors (there are only 2 floors) -- and the rooms in the building farther from the beach are less expensive
