“Great trip!”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

Even though weather didn't allow us to go to our original destination, the crew really worked hard to make it a great experience.

My 6 year old was a bit scared and Cassidy was really nice and encouraging - especially when we saw a (harmless) shark and double encouragement was needed.

What a great day!

“Snorkel Picnic Cruize”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

Teralani provided an excellent adventure for our family. My wife and three teenage kids had a great time on the premier snorkel picnic cruise. The staff and crew were excellent and the experience was top tier. I would highly recommend to all.

“Whale Watching”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

I went on a fabulous whale watching experience with Teralani. The boat was gorgeous, everything well presented. All of the crew were super friendly and informative about the whales and tried to ensure that we had the best experience possible. Highly recommended.

“Teralani 2 Sunset Dinner Cruise”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

Went on this sunset dinner cruise. I expected differently and was dressed up. We had to relinquish our shoes and go barefoot while walking through the surf knee high to get on the boat. The food was horrible and cold and they did not offer red wine. Bottom shelf liguor and white wine only. Like I said the food buffet was horrible and cold. Luckily the sunset was awesome!!!

“Wonderful crew, well maintained boat...”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

This is was our second trip with Teralani sailing. We snorkeled with this company several years ago and were delighted. This year we chose them for a sunset dinner cruise.

While the Maui had often been covered in the evenings with a afternoon "vog" and no sunset was available, we managed to have a fun cruise in any event. Although nominally we're too early to catch the whales we set out with high hopes.

The cruise started out with an eventful boarding on the sandy beach. Be prepared to get a little wet. Don't wear something that will get ruined if it gets wet, especially if there is any wind whatsoever. With keys and camera held high we followed the crews instructions and got aboard with little incident.

Once aboard we met our fellow travelers and settled in for a relaxing cruise with a drink and some chips and veggies as hors d'oeuvres. The drinks while not fancy were tasty and nobody skimped on the alcohol. Once underway my wife and I moved to the bow and relaxed on the benches on the front of the boat.

The boat is well designed to comfortably handle a fairly large crowd on deck. It's wide and relatively stable and my (who's prone to seasickness) felt comfortable the whole trip. Note, it was calm enough that we were under engine the entire time.

I couldn't drink fast enough to empty my cup before the crew was offering refills to me as I lounged on the front deck. They were wonderfully attentive the entire time. As dinner was served, the meal was brought on and served buffet style. While offering only a couple of choices, the food was plentiful and relatively decent and warm. (The fish was a bit over cooked, but hey, this isn't a 5-star restaurant.) The chicken was great, the rice was passable, the vegetable dish was well seasoned and hot. I would not have been embarrassed to invite a vegetarian friend aboard.

We saw several whales on the trip and thoroughly enjoyed our fellow travelling companions. These folks have a good enough reputation, that we found even a delightful local couple heading out on the cruise for their "date night" together. Sit back and be prepared to relax and enjoy the scenery.

PARKING: We took off from the beach near the Whaler's Village. Parking can be expensive and hard to find. Having tried this before, the secret is to locate the free "beach access" parking just a few short blocks down the street from the Whaler's Mall. there's not a lot of parking, but it turns over fairly quickly. We just go a little early and window shop at the mall before getting on the boat.
