Owner description: At Wailele Polynesian Luau dinner show, guests will embark on an exciting journey to the Polynesian Islands where dance was considered not just as a form of entertainment, but as a means of telling stories. Recognized for providing an award-winning experience, the luau is held oceanfront at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa and features dances and songs from old and modern Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, New Zealand (Maori), Tonga and Samoa. Highlights include the story of Pele (Goddess of Fire), Hi'ilave Hula Awana dedicated to Wailele (meaning waterfalls) and Maui's most extreme fire knife dance finale called "Siva Afi". The unforgettable evening of fun, culture and entertainment is complemented by a traditional dinner served buffer style and selection of beverages.

We attended this luau in May 2012 at the advice of our Concierge from the Ka anapali Resort (Hi Mike!). We were not disappointed! While the food could have been just a tad better, our server, Pat was great! We loved her! There were 3 other couples at our table and we had a blast! The show was enjoyable from start to finish and the host ./ singer was a sweetie. The only downfall to the night was that the bathrooms were out of order and you had to walk quite a distance to get to another one. I cannot compare this to other luaus, but I would recommend this to anyone!

We've been to a few luaus before, and this was probably the best of them.

They don't show you the whole "here's how we bury a whole pig" show, but the food was a step above what we've had at other shows. The pig was excellent, the chicken was good, and the fish entree (ginger fish) was actually fresh tasting. Most of the other luaus the entrees were barely edible. There weren't as many salads and sides as other places, but the seating was nice (eight person tables instead of giant cafeteria style) and the waiters brought drinks quickly. The drinks were also pretty good, much better quality than other luaus.

The emcees were good and the dancers did and great job, but we came here for a fire show and weren't disappointed. There were easily the best fire dancers we've seen. Their lead fire performer did an absolutely awesome job.

The Westin has a great location and a nice facility to host the luau, and since we stayed in Ka'anapali we just walked from our hotel over to the luau. If you're in Ka'anapali and want to go to a luau, this is a NO BRAINER.

We attended the Luau on May 14th. We payed the extra few $$$ for the premium seats. This only gets you closer to the stage. If your looking for details, then do it, otherwise no big deal. The entertainment and food was amazing, especially the end with the fire dancers. However, the overall price we paid was a little steep, in my opinion. I guess its the price you pay for going to a luau in Hawaii. Everything is expensive in Hawaii. You only live once, right. Also, be aware of the parking next door in the shopping center (if your not staying at a nearby resort). You can get a 3 hr validation, but only if you spend $15 in 1 of the stores. Otherwise $6 an hour.

We loved this luau! The comedian who started the show was so much fun! The dancers were excellent and the fire-dancers were totally amazing! The food was wonderful and the service excellent. We have been to the bigger, fancier Lahaina luau attended by hundreds of people, but really this smaller one was just perfect for us! We also enjoyed the company of the other diners at our table. Highly recommend this luau!

We attended the luau on April 23rd. We chose this luau for the fire knife dance as our family had our 6 year old nephew with us and we thought he would really enjoy that. He loved it! We walked over from the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel where we were staying. The food was good - we were aware there would be no imu ceremony. The cocktails were great (very sneaky as advised by our favorite book, Maui Revealed), and we also enjoyed a great sunset that night, and browsing through the craft displays. Everyone enjoyed the dancing - but it was really great watching our nephew really excited over the fire knife dance. Thanks all for a great night.
