Attraction details
Owner description: At Wailele Polynesian Luau dinner show, guests will embark on an exciting journey to the Polynesian Islands where dance was considered not just as a form of entertainment, but as a means of telling stories. Recognized for providing an award-winning experience, the luau is held oceanfront at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa and features dances and songs from old and modern Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, New Zealand (Maori), Tonga and Samoa. Highlights include the story of Pele (Goddess of Fire), Hi'ilave Hula Awana dedicated to Wailele (meaning waterfalls) and Maui's most extreme fire knife dance finale called "Siva Afi". The unforgettable evening of fun, culture and entertainment is complemented by a traditional dinner served buffer style and selection of beverages.

“Awesome entertainment for a night out”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

We visited on Thursday, October 4th. We booked through Discount Hawaii and paid $235.77 for two at the premium seating (normally $250+ tax). We were right in the front and sat with a few other couples. It was a very entertaining show throughout the whole night.

Pros: Great open bar (drinks definitely had a good amount of alcohol and all tasted great), great food buffet, awesome emcee, awesome dancing, best (and only) fire knife dance on the island

Cons: The one thing we were disappointed about was that we were told the food would be served family style, but they no longer do this, and instead it is served buffet style.

Bottomline: I would HIGHLY recommend this luau for anyone to come see- great fire knife dancing.

“A nice evening out”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

I was impressed with this event as at the end of the night they asked everyone to get on trip advisor and give them a rating, very brave of them, here goes.... The food was great, our waiter was fantastic and the drinks kept coming although the mai tais were not the best we had tasted. the lighting was average and the sound was terrible, we could hardly hear the MC. The show was good and the fire dancers at the end were spectacular. The best part of the eveing was the walk back to our resort along the beachfront. This was our only Luau visit so we have nothing else to compare it to.

“One of my favorite Luau experiences!”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

The show was really good. Food was great, the drinks were pretty weak. We have been to 4 different Luau's and this one we thought was probably our second favorite. The fire knife part of the show was the best we had seen.

“Fun experience.”
Reviewed September 6, 2012 via mobile

We were staying at the westin so we decided to go to this lua. We had payed extra for front row seating. It was cool. The food was good. The fish was good.the dessert was good. The alcoholic drinks were ok. The show was good. Some dancers were better than others, but they all smiled. The fire dancers were very good. The guy that opened the coconut tried to be funny but sometimes it was rude. Its a nice once in a lifetime experience and if you go to Hawaii you should go to a luau and this one is a good one

“overpriced overated”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Not only was the Westin far from 5 stars...the Wailele Luau was far from it too.
Though the dancing was entertaining, the meal was extremely lacking. Venue was not central to most guests and , though we paid for premium seating, most people had a poor view.
I would not and do not spending the big bucks on this one.
