“You'll love it here!!”

We booked through Expedia and when we arrived at Reception they told us they had nothing available, but the Staff at the Eldorado were so nice, they booked us into a very nice Hotel which is 5 minutes away for one night (free of charge) and they accomodated us the next Day, it was Expedia's fault not Eldorado.
Anyway, we are absolutely delighted with the Eldorado, our unit has a Kitchen Living/Bedroom with a partial Ocean view.
We have a Fridge/Freezer, Washer/Dryer...everything we need for a week's stay. We didn't want a Hotel because we are here partially for a Cycling Vacation, we rented Cannondale R5000 Road Bikes from West Maui Cycles, around 5 minutes away. So there's a tip for you Cyclists out there.
There's underground Parking @ $5 per night, half what we paid at the first place, and the nicest part is we can leave the Top off our Jeep rental overnight without fear of waking up in the morning and finding it full of Water!!
The Eldorado is conveniently located, turn right for Whaler's Village, left (on the 30) for a spectacular drive around the island...fantastic!!
The WiFi (free of charge) is very strong where we are, right next to the Pool.
Come to the Eldorado with confidence, you'll love it, plus, most restaurants are very spendy, so stop by at Costco, which is close to the Airport, and stock up for the week. There's BBQ's by the Pool!! We'll deffinately be back next year!!
The Sunset's are fantastic, I've posted a couple of Pics for ya!!

After much hesitation we booked for the second time at Maui Eldorado in Feb 2006. Last stay was Feb 2004 in E105. That room was dark, dingy, damp and outdated. We booked for Feb 2006 through Great Hawaii Vacations after being assured this was a nice place to stay. When making the reservation, they added comments to my booking that we were returning guests requesting a 2nd floor "updated" studio room. When I arrived, we were upgraded for some reason to a a 2nd floor one-bedroom which was fantastic (Room B203). The room was huge with a large lanai overlooking the pool and golf course. It was updated, clean, bright, and contained two queen beds, a sofa bed, large bathroom with a very large shower, and a nice kitchen containing all the things we needed. We were very pleasantly surprised. After our own experience and reviewing comments on this site, it seems that Maui Eldorado has a mixed bag to offer.

The parking is $5 per day and there was a small charge if you wanted to use the safe. There were still issues with having enough parking, but they assured us if we couldn't find a spot, we could just call security and they would help us. Although we only had a little interaction with the staff, they were pleasant and helpful.

When you save the entire year to go to Hawaii you expect to get something out of it. We have stayed at Outrigger properties before on Kauai so we were extremely dissapointed when we went home. The decor was outdated in the room. The main pool above the parking garage was just a cement pond with water with absolutely no Hawaiian charms at all. In a previous post I agree with the person who said the bathrooms were dark and old. We stayed in G building. On the 3rd night there I heard rumbling in our kitchen. Somebody had eaten thru a plastic bag of food. Well when we mentioned that there was a 3rd party in our room and by the bite marks it was very large they said they couldn't move us for a day and not even a sense of "we are sorry." When they did get us a new room they wouldn't even help us move to K building which wasn't close. I even got some snide comments from the staff "Oh you are the one with the rodent" and then a chuckle. The manager admitted to me that they knew of a problem in Building G that is why they had an exterminator there the day I found our roommate. They offered to move us to building H but I refused considering it was fumigate the first 2 days of our stay. We have been to Hawaii 3 times in 6 years and this was the worst place we stayed at by far.

Our garden-view studio, E-107 at the top of the Eldorado's hillside, was spacious, clean and attractively furnished in typical Outrigger tropical decor, with a pleasing view of one of the resort's three pools only a dozen steps from our shady lanai. The queen bed was extremely comfy with a quality mattress, though we found the heavy foam rubber pillows pure torture. Thankfully, the sofa was the real deal, not the studio couch found in smaller units at some Outrigger resorts.
The bright galley kitchen had an updated range, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, but wasn't equipped for real meal prep -- e.g., no toaster, decent knife, or salt and pepper shaker. The bathroom was, frankly, shabby and depressing: beat-up fixtures with the finish worn off, dim lighting in the toilet/tub area, no attempt at decor, and a cheap hollow-core door that literally looked gnawed off at the bottom. We weren't expecting granite and travertine, but all this was worse than many Motel 6's, though it was certainly roomier. What is Outrigger thinking??
As noted by other reviewers, the Eldorado's beach clubhouse is a definite plus, offering free chaises, sand chairs, and towels, a fridge and microwave and soft drink machine. The sandy beach is quieter than the Sheraton side of Black Rock, though its steeper slope and stronger surf call for a bit more caution with younger kids.
The pool by our unit had ample chaises and was never crowded. Everyone around it agreed it was just too cold to linger in, but great for a quick dip or sunning.
All told, we feel that for most guests the resort is a good value in pricey Kaanapali. Its hilly layout and distance from the beach and parking lot made it much more problematic for us, as I'm disabled (though not in a wheelchair). We had asked Outrigger about this when we booked and been assured that the golf cart shuttle would be available whenever needed. However, there was almost always a long wait for it, so we usually just gave up and walked -- slowly and with some difficulty when schlepping beach gear. For most guests this would not be a problem. For us, the difficulty really detracted from our enjoyment and so leaves us less likely to return to the Eldorado.

We have stayed in the Maui Eldorado twice and had a great experience both times. Most suites are only a 5 minute (easy) walk to the beach and the pool area is huge and sunny. There are 2 additional pools that we never even used. The Beach Cabana is an added bonus and it's nice to be able to catch a ride with the golf cart shuttle if you are lugging lots of stuff with you. The best thing about the Eldorado is being so close to Whaler's Village without actually being right IN it. We would walk down early every morning when things were quiet and have coffee on the beach. It is much nicer to take quite morning walks in Kaanapali as opposed to Kihei (where I have stayed in the past).
The resort is big and the staff are not overly helpful (especially if you rent privately and not through Outrigger).
If you're looking for big comfortable suites, lots of amenities and a fabulous beach nearby...this is the place for you.

My friend and I stayed here over New Years and had a great time! The beach is beautiful as is the overall scenery. While I feel that this resort is meant more for a honeymooning couple, I am glad I had the pleasure of staying here. The room was huge and had EVERYTHING including a washer/dryer. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing vacation.

I stayed here last week in a recently renovated studio unit. Good value for the money. My main complaint would be with the staff. They were not very pleasant at the front desk. The first night we were there, a huge cockroach came out in the kitchen. When we called the front desk just asking for bug spray, they told me the location of the nearest store and said that I might be seeing more so get used to the bugs.

One of the pools was a pleasant temperature, while the other two weren't heated. Unfortunately there isn't a spa on site.

When I booked the room there was no parking charges, but the by the time we arrived we were charged. When we mentioned the previous parking, they just shook their heads and said that we could park offsite someplace and walk a mile.

Other than these mild inconveniences, the location is great. Enjoyed my stay for the great price that we got.
