We stayed 4 times in the last few years in the month of October, It feels like home each time we return. We plan on returning each year going forward. The staff makes this hotel. They
may not have a waterfall in the lobby, but the the smiles and hugs make this resort what the spirit of Hawaii is all about. The grounds are beautiful, the ocean is right in front, the food is very good, and the activities for all ages about Hawaiian culture are very interesting and worth while. You can lounge around the hotels green areas besides their clean pool or meet many interesting people at the Tiki Bar. We also enjoyed the nightly hula and Hawaiian music shows. You can walk the beach (or separate sidewalk) to one of the islands best shopping centers which includes 2 more top restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask at time of booking and they will try to give you exactly what you want.

what a charming and perfect hotel. Staff amazing and attentive. Tiki Bar a great place to hang out for mai tais & onion rings. Partial ocean view would be oceanview for most hotels. My husband and I will definitely be visiting this little bit of Hawaiiana again!

Room Tip: Recommend Maui wing - partial ocean view.

Recently spent a week at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. First of all we loved to location on the west side right in Kaanapali close to shops, resturants, and most importantly the beach! All of the hotel staff was extremely friendly especially the beach attendants. We rented a cabana several days and enjoyed lounging on the beach watching the ocean waves with frequent stops to visit Dale at the tiki bar who fullfilled our liquid libation needs. We even rented a stand up paddle board and explored black rock for ourselves. The boys at triogy were very helpful giving us tips and even carried the boards to the water for us and helped us out when we were done. I highly recoomend this hotel! We will be back next year!

Fabulous!
The entire staff really makes you feel home.
We enjoyed the garden just outside the room, the Hawaiian shows, the restaurant ... And the location it's great ... We had fantastic drinks looking at the sunsets!

The rooms need some renovation and they only have wi-fi in the lobby ...

I wasn't very impressed with the lobby of this hotel, it was hot and looked outdated (mailboxes and world clocks!) but once we headed up to our room, I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is older, and therefore, the rooms are larger! We were happy to find queen sized beds in the room (as opposed to the full size ones in Waikiki). The patio is really large - and pretty much all the rooms in the main building have ocean views - across the whale-shaped pool. The location is nice, the room was comfortable, and it was perfect for the amount of time we spent in it. I enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere here too.
We rented snorkels and fins from the beach desk for $8/hour and saw sea turtles right off the black rock point. Would definitely say to try that while you're here!

We blew a fuse in the room and maintenance was really quick to come and fix it for us, with a smile!

Stay here for only three nights and wish we could have stayed forever. After reading the reviews here I was expecting the hotel to be a little run down and I didn’t feel that to be the case. We loved the laid back Hawaiian feel of the place. The beach was amazing and the staff was always so helpful, cheerful, and perfect. We never saw anyone with a frown on their face. I could go on and on but the bottom line is we’ll be back.

Room Tip: Garden rooms don't really face a garden, more likely the hotel next door.

Let me first start off by saying that we were in Hawaii for 2 weeks- first 7 nights at the Maui Marriott Ocean Club (beautiful-loved it) and then to Kauai for 4 nights at the Sheraron (another classy hotel) -Our last 3 nights were spent at the KBH- There is NO comparison to the other 2- staff was pleasant enough but the hotel is dated, "run down" and forget about "old fashioned Hawaii" as their ads indicate- just think OLD - the beach is beautiful in front of the property and their breakfast is acceptable(except for the many birds landing all over the tables and plates left there)- We had an ocean front room -beautiful view from our balcony but again the room was dated and "dingy" - the best thing about this hotel is the location and the price - But honestly in this case you really do get what you pay for- I would not stay here again unless some major renovations take place- There are MUCH nicer places to stay even for the 250 a night that we paid .
