I easily valeted my car at check-in and was informed that for the first night, valet parking was the same price as self-parking, which was welcome with bags, etc to haul to the room.
At check-in, the agent remembered me from a previous stay and welcomed me back! I pre-booked a partial ocean-view room with Club Access. The room was high up, as requested.
The room was nice, spacious, quiet and as promised offered partial ocean views. If you sat on the lanai, you could enjoy the sound of the waves crashing and had a nice view over the resort below. The bed was fine, though nothing special. I found the pillows too soft for my liking. The shower was fine, though nothing special. Bathroom amenities were special Hawaiian amenities for the property, which was a nice touch.
The beach at this property leaves a lot to be desired compared to other Maui resorts. It is narrow and filled with sharp coral, so be forewarned.
The pools were busy and noisy with lots of kids, and it was tough to find a seat, especially one with shade.
The bars were nice and featured island drinks. I recognized several of the bartenders from past stays on property.
The club lounge impressed me, especially for a domestic club. Drinks were much cheaper than in a bar. Service was friendly and attentive. The food spread was impressive and featured several hot and cold options for the evening. I never made it in the mornings.
Checking out of a Maui hotel always pains me, but it was all to easy, and there was only a short wait for my valeted car to arrive before I drove off into the sunset.
