The hotel has lost its luster big time.It needs a total revamp. The pool even though beautiful is overcrowded. very hard to relax when there is no privacy. the stores might be convenient but it cheapens what one thinks the Hyatt is about. Thanks to Tyler, the front desk manager, made my stay bearable by upgrading me to a better room. Kudo to you Tyler for adding a touch of class to an hotel that once shone bright.More

The level of customer service here is amazing. We can’t wait to go back! The location was perfect and the swim up bar was great! The restaurant Japengo at night was beautiful and the food great!

House keeping and service was below average. We were there 14 years ago and the service was wonderful. This hotel has declined since we have been there since. It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful property.

Resort is nice but a little worn out. Japanego is amazing but breakfast and Son’z steakhouse leaves something to be desired. Prepare to be harassed daily about timeshare. Still probably second best option in West Maui

Hotel staff was very friendly. The pool is one of the larger in the area with a great grotto that includes a bar. Penguins in the lobby as well as some swans and other birds for the kids to look at.
Hotel room was very clean and well done. Staff was always courteous and drinks were priced similarly to other hotels in the area.
Areas for improvement: Way too few chairs by the pool and limited shade. A lot of this is people sneaking down to the pool at 8AM and blanketing large numbers of chairs. Beach has been washed away a bit, but the public beach a few yards up is fantastic. The trees around the pool are pretty overgrown and i'd rather see the bushes/trees get cut back rather than reach out above the pool. It drops leaves all over the pool and kinda creates a mess. Just looks dirty when it really isn't.
Room fees...OK, all the hotels charge them in this area, but please stop it. Just add another $30/day on my room charge instead of hitting me with a room rate, hotel fee, state tax fee..etc, etc. It's ridiculous and leaves a bad impression.
I went to the Hyatt for my honeymoon, and received a wonderful basket of strawberries and chocolate, and a bottle of champagne from the hotel which was very much appreciated. Had buffet breakfasts every morning at Swan Court which was lovely.
