We first were given a room that overlooked a construction site. Our balcony time would have been entirely jackhammers and dust if we had stayed there. We called down and they agreed to move us away from it. Room had a nice view of the mountains. (We could also hear the nightly luau, which wasn't as annoying as you might think.)
Quality rooms, good bedding, good products.
Staff was responsive and nice, especially the concierge people, who were easily accessible and had good recommendations.
Pool is very impressive and the grounds are lovely. Good beach access. Snorkel rental fees are outrageous. Cheaper to buy brand new gear at a store nearby. All the on-site food and services are insanely expensive, but that's par for the course for large chain properties. Nothing worthwhile at the restaurants. Lousy cocktails and a poor beer and wine selection at the poolside bar, not to mention high prices. Better to BYO for your poolside and in room drinking. (Maui Brewing Company is nearby and is a mandatory visit for craft beer fans.)More
