Like cheese? You gotta come here. Like feeding and petting goats? You gotta come here. Like learning about what you eat? You gotta come here.

The staff here is incredibly friendly (even the owner was quite nice when our tour cut right through conversation with another worker) and energetic. They even name all their goats (and we're talking about dozens and dozens of them. They've got all sorts of dogs and cats running around, and the grounds are quite nice for a working dairy. Feeding the goats hay is quite fun too.

But, most importantly, their goat cheeses are great. Even if you don't want to go on the tour, stop by to order a cheese sampler. The cheese are quite varied, but they're all excellent. Also, the lilikoi (passion fruit) goat-cheesecake is a must-have.

We visited the farm in June 2012 after spending time on top of Haleakala Crater. After seeing their cheese used in dishes around the island, we had to stop. The farm is very well kept and visitor friendly. There are some dogs and cats roaming around, but they are very friendly, and spent most of their time sleeping or napping. Remember, it is still a working farm. You do not have to take a tour. You can visit the gift shop, or just go to taste and buy some cheese. They also had extra hay you could buy if you just wanted to feed the goats.

We took the $10 Casual tour because we missed the start times for the Grand Dairy Tour and the Chores and Milking tour. We were very pleased with the staff and our tour of the facilities. The casual tour included hay to feed the goats, which was great for the young kids in our group (and the adults had fun too). Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the goats, farming, and cheese making process. This tour also included a tasting of 5 cheeses from the dairy, and they were all wonderful. Our tour guide gave us a lot of good information about each cheese as we tasted it. We enjoyed it so much, we purchased a larger tasting that came with a basket of crackers and a wider variety of goat cheeses. They have a well stocked gift store, and also ship their cheese practically anywhere you want them to.

Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Maui. If you want to support local businesses on Maui, this location is a must-see!

Not only was the cheese awesome, but the whole staff was so incredibly aloha-y. I went for a change of pace, and I found it. What a terrific addition to an afternoon upcountry drive. We also ordered a 6 cheese sampler served with crackers for a light lunch and left surprisingly full! Charming animals on the farm, cute goats.. what a pleasant surprise!

At the dairy you can pay 10 $ for the tour. You get a lot of information how they take care of the animals, how they feed and milk and them. They told you the story how the dairy stared. You also feed the goats, witch is a good experience for children. I got a lot of interesting information but I was a little disappointed, because I thought we will walk more around and see more of the goats. You also get free samples of cheese to taste. I heard they have very good mango cheese which was not one of the samples, but the lady who gave as samples was so kind to give as the chance to taste it. It was delicious. On the end we bought their cheese cake. I have never eat such a delicious cheese cake in my life.

We really enjoyed the Surfing Goat Dairy on Maui. We got to sample six different cheeses, and we really enjoyed the tour. We learned a lot about sustainable farming and about raising goats. It is a very cool place.
