“Not your ordinary National Park”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

No other place like it on earth, you get to drive up to 10,000 feet and have an awe inspiring view of a dormant volcano. The drive is winding but worth it just be sure to be respectful of the plants and animals within the park as many of them are endangered. If you have time and you brought warm clothes I suggest walking down into the crater a ways so you get the pleasure of hearing absolute silence. The sunset is also amazing if it is clear. Just 10 dollars to get into the park for 3 days, which is also good to get into the other national parks on the island, like the seven sacred pools after Hana.

“Awesome Bamboo Forest and Seven Sacred pools”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

The hike through the bamboo forest was breath taking. I have never seen such beautiful, huge and very tall bamboo in my life. And the gorgeous waterfall at the end was phenomenal. We also enjoyed the Seven Sacred Pools and the gorgeous waves and views that were surrounding it.

“An Awesome Experience”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

If you visit Maui a trip to Haleakala for the sunrise is a must! It's beautiful, peaceful, and amazing all rolled into one wonderful experience. It is cold like everyone will tell you...so dress warm and experience something that you won't have the chance to do again. Pic's are nice but seeing the views for yourself will remain with you for a very long time. Stay a bit after the sunrise when the crowd clears out and you see the summit in a different way. We then headed down and had breakfast at Grandma's Coffee House. A wonderful end to a beautiful morning.

“Great day Trip”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

We stopped at each opportunity and hiked. The changing topography, views and experience is incredible Each one more beautiful than the last. Take some time at the top and ask the helpful staff questions. On the way down, make sure to hike at least 1.1 miles on the Halemau'u Trailhead to the valley rim - great view on a trail that is not very challenging to that point. The restrooms were impeccable - best I have seen at any national park.

“Haleakala a must see”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Seeing the summit of Haleakala was truly spectacular. It is so surreal to look out and see the clouds rolling into the landscape for you are above the cloud line.
